  4. Welcome! Yes get started on your FID and P2P now ... One of the first things is to understand why you want a firearm ... home defense, target/range shooting, competition, hunting ... and that will start to steer you in a certain direction of what type and caliber.
  5. My quote from USAA was about $114 a month (plus 2 vehicles) while on my current policy I am paying about $72 a month for State Farm (plus one vehicle) and the dwelling is valued at $66k more than in the USAA quote. Something doesn't seem right, I was expecting USSA to be at least equal or lower to State Farm, I guess I will have to call USAA and ask ...
  6. Go with the ribeye, 1000%. I am a bit of a steak snob. In order of preference and taste here are my beef rankings: 1. skirt 2. rib eye 3. brisket 4. chuck 5. flank 6. strip 7. sirloin 8. filet Skirt simply has the very best flavor to me with rib eye a close second. Skirt won't be a very popular cut in traditional steak houses, which is why I recommend the rib eye. Filet, while very tender, just doesn't have much flavor and is relatively expensive.
  7. I have the HS515C and I am also very happy with it.

  12. I've taught my family from day 1 that the very first thing you do whenever taking possession of a firearm is you never assume a firearm is unloaded, and you check. No exceptions. I don't see how this incident has anything to do with rentals, how busy the range was, or anyone other than the employee that shot himself.
  13. I had my car and the house on State Farm, and the wife's car on USAA, but now looking to switch everything over to USAA.
  14. Never a grand jury but I had a murder trial in Mercer county last spring, ended in a hung jury and later found out this was the second trial, with the first also ending in a hung jury 6 months earlier. Interesting security camera footage used in the trial posted on youtube:
  15. FWIW, safes serve different purposes, whether it is deterring criminals or keeping out small children. I have this one and I am very happy with it. I keep it under my nightstand next to the bed: http://www.sentrysafe.com/Products/503/QAP1BE_Biometric_Pistol_Safe_ I understand there are drawbacks to this type of safe but it serves my needs and I accept the compromises. I do not have young children in my home and I test it every night. Here is a review of a similar model (without the biometric access) where the reviewer shows how he can defeat the lock if the safe is not bolted down: http://www.ammoland.com/2016/02/sentry-safes-quick-access-pistol-safe/#axzz4UFDzTYM9
