So my buddy has a stainless steel 1911 and I noticed what looked like pitting or carbon build up or dirt on the lower frame but then when I ran my finger over it it was not rough. He's cleaned it before but not sure what he's been using to clean it. Is there something that someone can recommend that he could possibly try? Pic is attached.

Hey guys, I just picked this bad boy up from heritage in Rahway and I stoked to finally be part of the single stack 9mm club. At first I wanted the 3.3 but reading reviews and watching videos got me leaning towards the 4.0, held it at the shop and I was sold ... oh and the duotone is just too Purdy imo. On a side note, anyone have any recommendations for a place for me to go to a non resident ccw license/permit near the Edison area?

I am looking for 9mm luger, can't find any. There is 9mm NATO on Ammuntionstore.com (more expensive than I want to, but they have it). My user manual explicitly does not recommend +P and +P+. I'm wondering if it 9mm NATO is OK to use. Thank you

OK, thats really all I've got for now. First firearm purchase and I'm psyched to get the call to go pick it up, felt great in hand versus a few other models I was considering(and no a Glock wasn't one of them). Once in a while I like something a little out of the norm so the Walther fit that bill pretty well. And since its the first firearm of any kind I'll have shot in 20 or so years I figure the quick reset trigger and 1st gen paddle mag release won't be all that difficult to get used to. Looking forward to report back soon
