Anyone an RO

Hey guys I'm looking for people who are certified RO's.

 

I'm curious as to what the class consists of.

 

Also curious as to how you like it and what you think about it and what's an avg pay day and the hours worked. Also how much did your RO class cost and where did you take it.

contact the nra training division for class details - i never heard of a range officer getting paid at matches -

yes usualy volunteer, range 14 employees get paid.. not sure how much that is the main reason we pay the couple dollars an hour for range time..

I am a NRA certified RSO (Range Safety Officer). I took the course 12 years ago so I don't remember too much about it. It was a home study course at our range. The club paid for it but it wasn't a lot of money back then, $35.00, I think. We don't get paid at our range, we are volunteers. I have duty one Saturday every six weeks for 4 1/2 hours. If we didn't volunteer our time, the range would close and we need all of the shooting ranges in operation that we can get. I do it to promote the shooting sport and the Second Amendment.

I got my RSO last year and did it for my club. An NRA certified instructor taught me in a class and it took about eight hours. I'll have to get the name and write back.
