tuktuk 16 Posted July 15, 2010 hey guys. below is a picture of the same Remi that i have. as u can notice there are no sights on it. so i was thinkin if i shud add some. then i came across remington factory barrel with rifle sights. now the question is >>> do u think its a good idea? or shud i get just *insert here* sights? the shotgun is only for home defense... Pew Pew Plates 358 Posted July 16, 2010 for home defense i wouldnt bother with sights. the bead is plenty (and better for low light/close up reflex shooting) I've shot slugs at 100 yards and hit human sized targets accuratly with just a bead. Thats good enough!
Jon 264 Posted July 16, 2010 Good enough to hit a clay pigeon zipping by = good enough for HD imo. Also lessens the chance of tunnel vision by a small margin.
sirsloop 1 Posted July 16, 2010 Last thing you'll be doing is using any crazy sight. The bead works surprisingly well... just use buck shot.
Caine 147 Posted July 16, 2010 It's largely personal preference, but I don't like rifle sights on shotguns. I find them too slow to pick up quickly. Bead sight or ghost ring sights for me.
lexcruiser 13 Posted July 16, 2010 I have two Mossbergs. A 590 and a 590A1, one with bead and the other with the ghost rings. Personally, I prefer the ghost rings, but I shoot just as well w/ the bead. The benefit of the bead sight is you don't have to ever worry about windage and elevation adjustments... just point and shoot..!
dave545 15 Posted July 16, 2010 here you should do this to it and make it a home defense and a zombie killer
