Greydaddy 2 Posted February 19, 2011 Anyone shooting a Colt 2nd. gen. .38 SPL? Curious as to what loads you're using.
John Fox 5 Posted February 19, 2011 I'm using a second gen 357 and use 38 148 gr. wadcutters with about 3 grs. of Bullseye.

Ya think standard loads with jacketed bullets would be ok? I have a bunch of those loaded up for my 357. You casting your own?
Sigman 41 Posted February 19, 2011 I'm shooting 158gr LSWC over 4.2 gr. of Universal Clays. I don't think jacketed bullets should be a problem.
JonF 79 Posted February 20, 2011 get some lead bullets and a can of Trailboss for some super soft shooting! i loaded up some 38 wadcutters and in my 686, it feels like a 22. Sounds like you are concerned with pressure on this older gun?

Sounds like you are concerned with pressure on this older gun? Yes, wondering about the pressure, but I sure there are plenty of mild jacketed loads. I do have 5 or 6 manuals & mag articles. I think I shot jacketed bullets in one I had back in 1958. Thanks, guys.
