tell me about the sig sp 2022

Recommended Posts

there have been at least a few threads about it on the forum. Do a search. SP 2022 or 2009.

In short, it is a fine gun. Pretty nice trigger, but overall prefer my sigs in steel.

the Sig Polymer line is supposed to be one of the most accurate guns out there though.

In 9mm it is fine/good, in 40, I ended up selling a while ago. The recoil was a tad unpleasant.

where are they 360?

reason for such low prices is that they were supposed to be discontinued? But then sig started producing more of them. i mean it is a really fantastic polymer pistol. You just dont have alot of aftermarket support for it. I would gladly pick up a 9mm for under $350 new. But not a 40 cal. (but that is my preference).

You should look in the market section of the forum. There are p220 and p229 for a very good price and also p226 for a reasonable price. caliber is something you will get used to with practice. My 1st handgun was a sig p250 in .40

Specifically to 2022 >>> I never liked the grip on this gun. Its very uncomfy for my hands. Otherwise it's a sig :) u can't go wrong with it.

Your wife has her own PP or u re using 2 of urs? Cause don't forget about 30 days rule. And I still think u better off getting one of the P series pistols the guys are selling in the market section ..... Couple hundred rounds is nothing for these guns. And stick to the same caliber. You will save a lot of money this way.

Either way you've been bitten by the Signess :) there is no cure.

looks like i will be getting 2 for 700 shipped...1 for me and 1 for my wife

now i have opther 9mm and i wondered about the 40....same prices

If you got a .40 you can fire .357SIG with a barrel change (same mags) and with a Bar-Sto barrel and a new set of mags you can fire 9mm all from the same gun.

Exeter is making SP2022s again - all-American-made frame, barrel and slide now and no-more import. 9mm & .40S&W standard runs, occassional .357 Sig runs for LEOs. The all-American SP2022s and some German frame/American uppers have had some occassional feeding and extraction issues. The all-German, triple-serial SP2022s are the choice when you find them. I have an early all-German, triple-serial, proofed 9mm, internal extractor, loaded chamber indicator, variant that is absolutely one of the best shooting Sigs, in terms of trigger feel and accuracy, out of the box that I have ever fired! I also have a late 2010 all-American .357 Sig with the external extractor (Virginia LEO overrun) variant with a factory .40S&W drop-in barrel that also performs flawlessly. For those of you looking, keep in mind more than a dozen variants of SP2022s (beyond chambered caliber) have been identified.
