Smokin .50 1,907 Posted July 21, 2011 The second annual Black Powder Invitational Match will be held at the Old Bridge Rifle & Pistol Club's Outdoor Range complex on Saturday 9-24-11 starting at 9:00 am sharp. Registration table will be open at 8:00 am with coffee & various other goodies! A 50 & 100 yard (20 shot) Aggregate will be held for both Percussion Side-Hammers & Flintlocks. First place in each Division will receive 1/3 of the funds collected for that Division! Side Matches will be Rifle Card-Cutting, Pistol (Stationary) Clay Bird Shooting, Rifle 5-Bull Buffalo @ 25 yards, and Clay Birds launched in the Air for Muzzleloading Shotguns & Smoothbores. A full day of FUN is planned. Registration is only $40.00 and covers your first two Side-Matches! Additional Side Matches are only $5.00 each and you may enter as often as you like. Winner of each Side-Match to receive 1/3 of funds collected for THAT Side Match! Lunch is only $7.00 additional. Water all day is FREE! If you ever wanted to see Black Powder up-close or wanted to enter a friendly competition in NJ, this is your best chance! Trade Blankets are encouraged. All NRA & NMLRA safety rules apply! The Black Powder Gang at the Old Bridge Rifle & Pistol Club is one of only two NMLRA (National Muzzleloading Rifle Association) Charter Clubs located in the State of NJ! We hold our regular monthly Matches at Range #7 (the 100 yard Range) at the OBR&PC Outdoor Complex (see directions on web site) on the first Sunday of every month except June & October. NRA Qualification Matches are run every third Sunday of the month except June & October, where our regular routine is run. Our Club shoots pistols from the 25 yard line and then backs up to 50 yards to start the rifle Match. Novelty Shoots are usually held twice a year as well! Smokin .50 1,907 Posted July 21, 2011 Does BP Cartridge fit in anywhere? I'm not sure. So far as of now I believe that there isn't any plans for it (at the Invitational). We do however always accommodate BPCR (with REAL Black) for a separate Rifle Division in our regular Matches. Pistol Cartridge Black Powder used to shoot with C&B Revolvers (only ONE guy, with a Remmy conversion), but he was relocated to PA by his job so he no longer attends the regular Matches. What guns are you thinking about bringing? Do you use REAL Black (or a sub) or do you use smokeless? Smokeless isn't allowed at this Match! Can you get some other friends interested in forming your own Division or would you be the ONLY guy there with centerfire arms?? Once these questions are answered, the Match Director can make a ruling. If it's JUST YOU, we can loan you all the guns you'll need to enjoy yourself at the Invitational.
