MedicYeti 96 Posted October 13, 2011 Greetings. Does anyone on the fourm do fine metalwork? I have a broken pin for a Ruger that needs o be replaced. I called Ruger, they don't have or make them anymore. I've checked all the gunsmith supply companies for the extra parts and have struck out. Now I need it replaced. Anyone able to do a small pin? I can send the broken one. Any ideas?
lunker 274 Posted October 13, 2011 Go to a hardware store. I bet you will find something close in size. There usually isn't anything special about the roll pins used in guns versus the ones used for other mechanical devices.
MedicYeti 96 Posted October 13, 2011 Not a roll pin, I should be more specific. This is a solid pin that has a step down end, meaning one end is smaller. The whole thing can sit on a quarter.
hd2000fxdl 422 Posted October 13, 2011 If it's a roll pin as was said any decent hardware store should be able to help you out. If it's something odd post up a picture and measurements and post that up and maybe one of us might have what your looking for or know where to get one. BlackOps Badger 52 Posted October 14, 2011 My dad is a welder and he works with machinists, so if you want I can show it to him and see what he can do, if anything.
MedicYeti 96 Posted October 14, 2011 It is a pin for a Ruger PC4 Carbine. It goes through part of the trigger and holds the sear and a part for one of the safety features.
lunker 274 Posted October 14, 2011 There are two different Ruger forums out there. Give them a shot. There are some knowledgeable folks on them.
