Smokin .50 1,907 Posted February 6, 2012 Harry, Thanks for posting! Interesting! I wonder what effect a wetting agent would have on the bounce of the droplets? High Speed Photos can do a lot. I have the Book on the Challenger Incident. I handled a similar camera (Hulcher, high speed medium format) once a while ago. Interesting story.
AS350Driver 56 Posted February 6, 2012 Pretty cool! I took some photos of water drops a couple of years ago. Trying to hit the shutter release at the right time is kind of a game of chance. To get about three usable pics I think I took a couple hundred that were unusable. Here's one I took.
hd2000fxdl 422 Posted February 6, 2012 Nice job Frank, that must have been frustrating to get..
Malice4you 627 Posted February 6, 2012 Water drops can be really beautiful...(nice shot above btw). I remember watching that show when it aired...I was impressed... I have (somewhere) a shot of a water droplet 'exploding' on a knife blade made of rustproof H1 steel. It takes a hell of a lot of frames to get the shot you want. Having a camera capable of capturing 8+ frames per second does really help...it just has to be properly lit as well...
