Home Heating Oil Prices

Recommended Posts

For those of you with an oil-fired furnace, what are you paying for oil?

I just got the following quotes, which assume you get 150-gallon minimum. It's not difficult to determine which I went with.

$4.30 per gallon.

$4.00 per gallon.

$3.79 per gallon.

$3.67 per gallon.

It's pretty amazing how large the swing in prices are for home oil.

COD? I went with a low one but did not lock in. I know, I know anyway when they dropped I had to pay 30 cents a gallon more than quoted. They're all scum.

Yea, it was cash COD, but I knew that going into it. Being home while it was to be delivered allowed that to not be a big deal. I had still been working, I would have had to arrange to pay by credit card and probably cost a bit more. It took 161.1 gallons to fill @ $366.9, so I'm out $591.08. Man did I hate peeling off that much cash at once.
