Rimfire competitions?

So I'm getting sick of just going to 25yrd indoor ranges and poking holes in paper. Folks here have already pointed me to USPSA/IDPA for my pistol and I'm 95% sure I'll be doing IDPA in Somerset in March (will try to meet up with you guys then); but I'm wondering if there's anything like that for rifles?

 

I'd love to get into something for my 10/22 just because it's cheap to shoot and fun to accessorize...but I've really had it with standing in a port shooting at paper. Anything like competitive/fun plinking anywhere?

 

Also if there's anything for major centerfire (I've got a mini-14 in .223) I wouldn't so much mind that.

 

Before anybody says it I don't have a shotgun so can't get into 3 gun...also trying to keep my ammo investment down for now. I'm not into collecting guns...just ammo :-)

AT oldbridge, there's OBRAMS. It's like USPSA/pro-am/IDPA but with rimfire.

OBRAMS is great, but it's not going right now, waiting for winter to end.

 

You can also shoot steel matches (speed on steel, not knockdown).

Really don't know anything about this, other than it is out there. I'll leave the research up to you and you can report back to the board, or maybe someone on here has participated?
