Run shotgun with a lot of lube?

I just got my first shotgun ever, Mossberg 590 Special Purpose (model # 50668), and just took it apart and there's what I'd call A LOT of oil in most of the moving parts. I know you're supposed to run AR's pretty well lubed but I wasn't sure about shotguns so I thought I'd ask.

 

Is this just factory grease crap I need to clean out or should I apply lube liberally to this thing?

I'm run my ar dry.... Maybe 3 drops. My m500 I lube the bolt, pump arms, and that's about it, over 750 rounds no issues no wear really. Sure other people will chime in

I run pumps and autos wet it cuts down on the round count for cleaning but I dont hate breaking guns down.when I disassemble them very little wear is seen but being oiled like this does increase fouling

A pump-action shotgun is probably one of the simplest guns you will ever own. Put a little lube on the moving parts and you will be just fine. I occasionally shoot skeet with a Mossberg 500 and I can't remember the last time I cleaned it - when the action starts get gummed up, it's a signal that it needs to be cleaned.
