World War I Au Lion Trench Knife Question.

Recommended Posts

Another old codger friend asked me to check to see what this knife is worth. It's the real deal. Given to his father too many years ago to remember. From what I can find out its worth anywheres from $500-650. Possibly more as it has the original metal sheath with both cartridge belt hooks in tact, which is quite rare.

My question is about how to go about selling something like this , still get him the best possible price and stay legal. . In many states its illegal, C&R or not. In Kalifornia I think they hang you from a eucalyptis tree for just posessing.

Is it legal to sell it in New Jersey, say on Gunbroker. How to stay legal with 50 different state knife laws????post-1583-0-71119300-1344733618_thumb.jpgpost-1583-0-71119300-1344733618_thumb.jpgpost-1583-0-64964500-1344733625_thumb.jpgpost-1583-0-46763500-1344733633_thumb.jpgpost-1583-0-12797400-1344733641_thumb.jpgpost-1583-0-66891700-1344733648_thumb.jpgpost-1583-0-57658300-1344733655_thumb.jpgpost-1583-0-07445300-1344733662_thumb.jpg. Think I have the gun laws down pretty good but very hazy on knife laws, especially knuckle dusters.

Any assistance appreciated.

I think having that knife (especially in NJ) may create some legal issues.... go and try to sell it and you may very well increase the likelihood of finding said legal issues..

I'd imagine selling in a less restrictive state would lessen issues since they may make exceptions on a historical basis. This is purely speculation though.

I hate how stupid this state is when it comes to knives. Something like that shouldn't be demonized, but held as a piece of history.
