Ready to start metallic reloading

Recommended Posts

I have been reloading shotgun shells on a progressive press now for a few years and ready to start metallic reloading.

I like and am familiar with the lock and load progressive loader by Hornady only because it almost simulates the 366 loader I have for shotgun.

I know that Dillion is a very good product and commonly used among most reloaders,

I just feel I need some imput as to what exactly are the necessities to the whole process without going broke.

if any can give me some tips I'd appreciate it.

Vince

The LNL is a very good machine.

If you plan on loading for multiple calibers on the LNL get extra die collets. Makes caliber swaps fast and painless.

In general pistol caliber is much easier to load than rifle.

If you want to reload for rifle it may be best to revert back to single stage for precision and accuracy. I got rid of my progressive a long time ago in favor of the single stage. If you just want to make blasting ammo for a rifle, you can do it on a progressive press.

Im sure others will dissagree with me but thats my $.02

Enjoy your new hobby within a hobby!
