90 Day residency proof for non-citizens

Hello everyone,

 

Although this does not apply to 99.99% people on this forum during my last purchase i was not asked to provide bills showing proof of residency for 90 days.

 

So they changed the rule for all non citizen firearms purchases.

Does anyone here know what an Interim Final Rule at the ATF is ? Is it final when its on the 4473?

 

Seems final to me since some FFLs are not asking for this.

Can't answer your question - but as a Green Card holder the 90 day proof is something I've had to do each time. I've not bought a firearm in the last few months though.

While doing the background check They still ask the gun shop to " check if he's a US citizen " .

I have nothing on me to prove it so when asked I just say , yes I am.

Seems to me the records are not up to date and it depends on who you get on the phone to what they will ask for.

Btw I've been a US citizen over two years .

The 90 day rule changed on July 9th. No proof of residency is required other than your regular documents, i.e. DL, FPID.
