ITman 2 Posted February 2, 2013 I decided that I would try to get rid of some end shake in my SP101 so I bought the extractor tool and .004" shims for an SP101 from Brownells. Takiing apart the SP101 and removing the extractor using the tool was a breeze. I was already to install a shim and I can not figure out where it should fit. The hole in the shim is only big enough for the "center rod pin" to fit through. I checked that I've received the correct part number from Brownells and they are the ones for a SP101. I can't find any info on how to install these and I'm hoping someone can help.
alec.mc 180 Posted February 2, 2013 Demonstration on a S&W, but should be similar for a ruger. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmYzAVgDBkY
ITman 2 Posted February 2, 2013 sits on top of the face of the yoke, does not slide around a pin, sits on top of it. Demonstration on a S&W, but should be similar for a ruger. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmYzAVgDBkY I've watched that video and I thought it would be the same but the bearings that I got have a small hole, much to small for the extractor to fit through it like the S&W video. NJCK 5 Posted February 3, 2013 Picture would be better than words... My best guess in absense of one is that you didn't break it down suffiently to install them where they bear. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=0/sid=31/schematicsdetail/SP101
