quite heavy recoil, the small polymer frame does not take it well.

 

If you want a plastic 40 cal, get an M&P, a Sig SP2044 or Glock 35

I'm a new shooter and find the 9mm(my first hand gun) quite easy to handle, and extremely reliable. Unfortunately I can't help with the 40cal comments and I don't know of anywhere that rents them. Most seem to refer to the .40 as being a snappy round in general, how it feels in ones hands will be pretty unique to the individual
