WT marked Garand bayos=distinctive 2 tone grips. Cutdown= about4-500, 16"=6-700. I have 2 on display. The ones in the canvas scabbard are 1917 bolos issued to machine gunners in WW1. The rest are mostly WW11

When I was in basic we were told (by Drill Corporal Kelly IIRC) that if our bayonet should stick in our target to fire a round and let the recoil help pull it out. I asked "if I've got ammo in my rifle why am I using a bayonet?". I paid for that question. I did go on to redeem myself by splitting two M14 stocks during bayonet training and winning the company pugil stick competition.
