I need a replacement for Leupold VX-R

I have a Leupold vx-r 1.25x4 with the firedot reticle, i really like the scope i use it on my LR-308, the only thing that bothers me is the crosshairs are alittle to thick so for precision shots its not good the crosshairs cover the target. so my question is in relatively the same price range, quality & clarity as the vx-r and  what are my options? i need really faint crosshairs as not to obscure my target
