Transfer question

Recommended Posts

If I purchase a firearm on Gunbroker when my FFL transfers it to me will he collect the NJ sales tax?

I'm not trying to get out of it I just want to factor it into my budget.

The seller of the firearm is responsible to collect any taxes due at time of sale.

Most inter state sales do not require the seller collecting sales tax, but again it

would be up to the seller.

The transferring dealer (your FFL) is only required to to charge you his transfer

fee & NICS charges - Not Sales tax on the gun itself.
