SDR Noob

Hello Everyone,

I have recently been experimenting with SDR Radio and purchased the hardware below to get started. Being a total radio noob is it possible to pickup addition frequencies such as police, EMT, HAM and CB? I really would like to listen to local stations besides FM and AM. I am currently using a software called RDSSHARP and I am told that its a very powerful tool but I just need to learn how to use it properly. Do I need a stronger antenna? If so which one should I purchase? I want a powerful one and can pickup these additional frequencies and is compatible with the MCX connector which plugs into my computer's USB hardware connector. Depending where you live, you may not be able to listen to any police, fire, or ems agency communication regardless of your setup due to many agencies migrating towards the new digitally encrypted trunk systems.
