Catch22LR 0 Posted June 17, 2014 Does anyone know if I can use an 8 shot 22lr revolver at the special steel match on the 29th at cjrpc?
alec.mc 180 Posted June 17, 2014 Sure. I'll likely be there with my 10 shot 22 revolver
Catch22LR 0 Posted June 17, 2014 Cool, thanks! How much ammo should I bring? And why is this match special?
Pizza Bob 1,488 Posted June 17, 2014 I have no idea how much ammo to bring (lots, and that's just an estimate), but I assume that it is special because it is a 5 weekend month.
alec.mc 180 Posted June 17, 2014 If Richy is running it, they are all special... well, cause... He's a little " derp " ya know? Special steel events at CJ are typically odd ball stages, and steer away from the usual "5 plate" steel challenge stuff, in the past there have been some plate racks, bowling pin tips, steel challenge stages with 9 plates, etc etc.
alec.mc 180 Posted June 17, 2014 wouldnt hurt to bring 300 rounds or so. it's special because 5th sundays only come around once every so often.
Catch22LR 0 Posted November 27, 2014 Hey guys, If anyone is bringing a .22 revolver to the special steel match at CJ this Sunday, want to be in the same squad? I'll be shooting one.
alec.mc 180 Posted November 27, 2014 I'll do my best to show up
Mikeythumbs 1 Posted November 27, 2014 Think they might be doing a man on man so not sure if the 22 such a good idea. You can shoot the rest of the match with 22 but man on man not so much o to CJ website and wrote MD
FLHX 1 Posted November 27, 2014 I think but I could be wrong the match is center fire only. I could be wrong but I think the last man vs. man was center fire only. I would send an email to the admin of the website. http://www.centraljerseysteel.com/home.html email [email protected]
alec.mc 180 Posted November 27, 2014 I emailed rich, he said it'll be a mix of knockdown, man vs man, and steel challenge. I'll throw my 22 in the bag, but we probably be better off with center fire guns
Mikeythumbs 1 Posted November 28, 2014 Looks like its going to be a nice day high of 55. I might bring out the 1911 I cant win Man vs Man anyway so might as well have fun.
1LtCAP 4,264 Posted November 29, 2014 Cool, thanks! How much ammo should I bring? And why is this match special? possibly 'cause there's actually enough .22 to shoot this match with?
Catch22LR 0 Posted November 30, 2014 Hey, I went to the match with the 8-shot 22 revolver and it was fun. 4 stages were the usual static steel and there was one 25 target knockdown stage. For the knockdown stage, rimfire shooters just had to mark the targets, not knock them down. Most of the targets fell for me though, so that was cool. I didn't do man vs man. Thanks for showing me your revolvers, alec.mc!
Kingsoverqueens 10 Posted December 1, 2014 Great match today! LOVED the knockdown steel even though it kicked my ass.
fapipa 3 Posted December 1, 2014 Great match today! LOVED the knockdown steel even though it kicked my ass. To add insult to injury, it looks like your time for the knockdown stage is listed incorrectly on the web site...
Kingsoverqueens 10 Posted December 1, 2014 Meh, At that number what difference does it make? lol The boy did good. I was happy to see that.
alec.mc 180 Posted December 1, 2014 Thanks for showing me your revolvers, alec.mc! No problem, Nice to meet you. The match was great, The Man VS Man side matches are always a blast, I took 3rd overall, with a close run for 2nd. And the weather was perfect.
