Sandy 44 Posted September 6, 2014 We went yesterday 35-40 miles..sucked..Need to go out further. Caught 1 dolphin and bonita.. They are catching small bonitas and dolphin in that mile range.. We got boarded by the coast guard, and they said fri was busy with boats, but when asked about the catch, all small bonitas.. Worn_Holster 2 Posted September 9, 2014 If you are serious about your tuna fishing, you should consider making a road trip to NC where the Gulf Stream is right off of the coast. Here in Jersey you will have to expend a lot of fuel and time just getting to the Gulf Stream, where you'll find the tuna following the baitfish in the warm rich waters and be more likely to get your money's worth of tuna on board.
