Trigger job

Recommended Posts

I purchased a new 700 in .223 with the X-Mark trigger and found it to have an extremely heavy pull. Granted, I am very new but I still suspect to be a potential nuisance. I am not confident enough to dabble myself and I would like to find a gunsmith in our neighborhood that has experience with the new trigger. Any suggestions?

If you dont wana get down and dirty with a file you can polish the contact surfaces with some oil and some 2,000 grit sand paper. Disassemble the trigger and polish every part of it (Sear, trigger, etc...) That makes contact with a seperate part of metal. This makes the trigger feel much more "crisp" and clean. I did this to my 10/22 and it helped a bunch...no smith required. If you wana try this before hiring a smith im sure you could handle it.

Heres another good little bit of info if your going to dive in :p
