Skeet shooting lesson

Does anyone no a range where I can get a lesson in skeet shooting? I would like to see whether I enjoy shooting clays. I live in Jersey City, the nearer to there the better.

I do not know of any training available, fort dix has great clay stations.

Check the NRA training section and find a NRA Basic Shotgun Course near your residence.They will give you a great primer for the sport and supply all needed equipment.

This is above and beyond NRA basic shotgun, they provide professional instruction on shooting.The instructors are involved with the USA young adults and Jr. Olympics teams. I don't shoot up here but I've watched kids training for the USA team as well as the Olympic teams up here, the club sponsors them. It's amazing when 12-14 year olds are scoring 997 out of 1000 or better.

Would you drive a little while for free lessons at a cheap club. Try Pine Belt in Indian Mills, Near Medford NJ. The guys there will teach you how to shoot skeet, show you the leads, give you advice and shoot plenty of rounds with you. If you want to get better they will hire on as a coach.

It is the nicest and most affordable skeet and trap facility in Jersey. Or call them and see if you can ask them some questions. They might point you to Fort Dix also.

I'm sure at that price it is an advanced course. But at $200 an hour you are wasting your money. Get the basics at a decently priced NRA or club course. then if the game suits you, move on to the advanced courses.
