I don't get it.  Americans have been buying up guns like crazy lately and they're going to shut down a factory?

This has been in the works for the last year or two, before the latest crazy started. They broke the company up into 4 pieces. I believe PSA recently bought the ammo line. A new company will start making firearms when the dust settles.

The Freedom Group/Cerberus bought a bunch of gun manufacturers and drove them into the ground. The break up is a good thing, not the closing of a factory and loss of jobs. NY state doesn't deserve the privilege of manufacturing guns.

The Roundhill Group bought the rights to the Remington brand weapons but Vista Outdoors bought the Remington name and IP so if they want to use the Remington name, they'll have to cut a deal with Vista.

I really like the fact that Ruger bought Marlin. Remington ruined Marlin and now I hope that Ruger builds Marlin's like they should be built.
