welcome to the forum and NJ. about permits, yes and no. Yes, you need one for each handgun purchase... yes they expire in 90 days, but you can extend them for another 90 days. and oh yeah... sooon... one gun a month.

how could they see if it was a glock 40? I can see carrying with the cz with one in the pipe with the safety on, but hey.... it is what it is. i hope the baby wasnt hurt.

with the new requirements.... fbi checks, backgrounds, refrences, and to top it all off 1 officer typically is responsible for all of the permits and FId....... and oh yeah, they typically have other stuff to do... like investigate crimes and stuff. it does suck though. I mean you can sue the town by all means, and you will win the legal battle.... but is it worth it? the 30 day thing is highly difficult to observe. its like if you own a business to repair widgets... and you promise 24 hour return time.... you are the only employee, and all of the sudden you get a surge of repairs. I really do understand it from both sides.

I dont know if all, but all of the ones I went to in Central and Southern NJ do. woodbridge does I believe. they dont have handguns, but do have rifles and shotguns, mostly hunting oriented stuff.

So ordered some primers... that means now going to reload. anyone have any suggestions for what powders? Right now going to be reloading mostly 9mm and 45gap. will get into reloading rifle in the future, would love to reload 223 and 7.62x54r. other oddball calibers may be 357 sig.

they also have a bunch of wolf pistol primers... just order 5 boxes.

check the newbie forum, there is a link to the world.guns.ru? site that has alot of info on them. also, there is a big book called "guns of the world" that is great, picked it up on sale at borders for like 5 to 10 bucks, that I like to keep for refrence.

the smith compact fits my hands perfectly, though I prefer full size handguns, and I am by no means a big guy. You will find the recoil on the compacts will be alot more snappy than anything else out there.

Stayed at an all inclusive resort, brand new in runaway bay, private, nice... then went out to the falls, and into the few things to do there. also, look at dominican republic.... cheap, and fun. cold shot, not to be disrespectful, but how old are you? I know when I went ammo shopping with njpilot, they didnt ask him for id at all, when I went, they asked for my id to verify I was 21, but they never gave me crap about being a nj resident.

Many people on this board have non resident concealed carry permits for florida or Utah, and thus carry when in other states. others, just want a smaller handgun. Look at it this way.... why would anyone need a Full size desert eagle? but they buy them anyway.
