  1. Before the show was ever on, The original FFL in Will and Steph's name was lost, apparently due to paperwork issues. Vince, Joe and Charlie then became the holders of the FFL. When Vince left, his name came off the FFL, which is still held by Joe and Charlie. There were rumors of missing guns, then the story changed to be pure;y paperwork issues...and rather anemic ones at that. ATF strikes again.
  2. There are half a dozen NJ depts that have been using Airsoft for years for force-on-force and Active Shooter training..it's not exactly ground=breaking
  3. Nono NO Vlad...everybody is supposed to beat their chests and play Keyboard Commando and talk about how tough they are..all the while completely disregarding the actual facts. Remember when i told you Sunday i dont come around here much anymore???? This is why. The Sadly funny thing is these same guys, if they DIDNT do something like this, and Tsarnyev had decided to go out in a blaze of glory by running into a group of people with a vest, or another backpack bomb, would be bitching and moaning about the police not doing something to limit his targets.
  4. it isnt the first poll of sworn officers that show that..just the most recent.
  5. because people whine about the Police having Full Auto
  6. They Make AK "Pistols" already..NONE of them are NJ legal because of the weight alone, nevermind the Barrel Shroud.... If you could manage to get the weight under 50 oz, without affecting safety, or operation, THEN you might have something NJ Legal...personally I don't think it CAN be done. to get an NJ-Legal AR "Pistol" it takes a polymer lower and buffer tube, and even then you're skittering right on the edge weight-wise
  7. Keansburg- Roma Pizzaria Kearny - Big Nick's North Arlington - Pizzaland
  8. Lots of people talk themselves INTO trouble..almost None ever talk themselves OUT of it. STFU and let Nappen do your talking.
  9. It's been that way for a number of years now
  10. He also had a licensed Explosive handler when he did it. Just like all of the NFA goodies he plays with, he isnt the SOT holder, but someone named on the FFL is present at all times, even if they aren't on Camera. SoG is the same way, IIRC Joe and Charlie both hold Explosive Licenses as well as the FFL/SOT
  11. Will lost the FFL long before the show first aired. The FFL was held in the names of Vinnie, Charlie, and Joe, When Vinnie left to open his own business, the FFL remained in Charlie and Joe's names. Will and Steph own the over all business. As for the show, it makes things out to look worse than they are ato us, but make good TV for the uninformed. I know people that Know them, and they have said that the BS is WAY overdone through scripting, even Chris isnt as annoying as he appears in the show.
  12. You know YOUR family..I know thousands of cops from hundreds of agencies across the country..
  13. Part of the job..at one point because of politics when we were VERY shorthanded, and non-emergent calls were running 45-50 minutes, we were informed that telling anyone outside the dept how many people were working on a shift would be considered Insubordination, and charged Administratively that way. Even under Civil Service that qualifies as a Terminable offense.
  14. They are still trying to solve the Homicide.... Because he was involved in the firearms end of the Videos and had the SOT contacts, the Feds are keeping an eye on that. As for the rest, yeah it's a fishing Expedition. SHOULD Kyle (The actor) Get an Explosive Users License?? Probably, although as long as the amount of explosives is under 50lbs, he is within the letter of the law.... which is why they're playing footsie about the commercial aspects. That's what got that guy in trouble a year or so ago when he set off a 100lb charge and caused the panic at the nearby Nuke Plant. Anything over 50# requires a license. At the end of the day, all of the assorted NFA items Kyle has played with as FPS Russia, have been lawfully owned by a couple of different FFL/SOT's, who have been present while Kyle was shooting, as required...Frankly it's probably pissing them off that Fplks like Kyle, and the Haydens (As annoying as SOG can be) Portray firearms in a positive light, and make people realize that Machineguns, Destructive Devices, and Supressors are PERFECTLY LEGAL TO OWN in most of the cpuntry
  15. Most cops vote conservative...while the State PBA does ASK that members support certain politicians, it's never at least in MY experience been a matter you ordering us to vote. Most of the guys on my dept voted the opposite anyway. Being Vocally pro-gun can and in some places will affect your career. Maybe not Openly, but Most assignments are at the SOLE discretion of the Chief, and Intra-agency assignments (Task-Forces, Multi-Agency Teams) and the like are vetted by the County Prosecutor's offices..again with the County prosecutor being the SOLE decider. Some folks here love to prattle on about LEOs having "More Rights' when in fact, the nature of the Job makes the Opposite true.
  16. From what I've seen the quality is great whether it's one of the less expensive ones, or the top-line. Right now i;ve got an old Gillette that was my Dad's, as well as a parker Classic ($27 at Classic Shaving) that serves me pretty well. personal preference for me is the Twist-open DE razor, rather than the 2-piece, just because its easier to change blades.
  17. Let's just say it was explained to him FULLY what the implications were, he didnt think it would be the issue it turned out to be, and he stayed true to his word and backed off of it. he ALSO said he would try to get Mainor to drop it completely.
  18. I guess he had to pass it to find out what was in it......
  19. Why not??? that is an option for just about ANY non-violent charge, including Indictables below IIRC 2nd degree. We used to do it all the time, Charge them on a summons complaint as opposed to a warrant complaint, with a CJP appearance as opposed to mun icipal court. it's done EVERY DAY.
  20. That came out a couple of months ago..there's one in my area at Monmouth mall..i HAD planned on giving it a try till someone sent me the pic on FB a while back
  21. I went semi-old school with a safety razor...the thing is, when it comes to wet shaving, you HAVE to bracket time for it..if you're in a hurry, stick with the Plastic Fantastic Route. Prep is the key..Pre-shave oil and a hot towel (or shower first) to open the pores and soften the hair, Good, quality cream or soap lather and Brush on, then shave once with the grain, rinsing between each stroke, and swapping sides. Then, Re-oil, re-lather and repeat against the grain. it usually takes me about 15-20 min to do it right, whereas in a rush, i could shave in about 2 min in the shower with a multi-blade razor. Also, if you have a beard, spend a little coin and get beard-specific wash and conditioner..I tried just using regular hair shampoo and Cond on mine and it really screwed up my skin. I buy pretty much all of my stuff from ClassicShaving.com beard wash and conditier i use are from Bluebeard, and i use Merkur blades in my razors. Straight is a nice concept, but they take a LOT of care and prep, and to do it right you REALLY need to have a razor for each day, or you'll be spending more time sending it out to be sharpened, than shaving with it. Badgerandblade.com has scads of info on all types.
