Intermediate Pistol in the rain
GAPP replied to GAPP's topic in Green Academy of Personal Protection
Norris, glad you enjoyed it... despite the weather, I had fun too. From the instructor side of things, the caliber of student makes a class great or miserable... you guys were fun to teach. Hope to see you again. -
Ive trained in the rain many times... its never really bothered me (quite honestly, I like having the range to myself) but I make it a habit not to teach beginning or novice shooers in the rain... you never know how someone will react to being cold and wet. I taught a pistol class today and thankfully had some decent students. We got dumped on most of the morning and they never complained, got grumpy, or were unsafe... I just hope they cleaned their guns really well when they got home.

Yeah, thats a sad but true statement.

We talk about keeping hearing protection for all members of the family in the safe room... but in this mock scenario, youre using a firearm to protect youself and your child... and in that situation, you really dont have time to call 'time out' so you can put on ear protection.

This class filled a few days ago. I have been contacted by a few others on this board about classes... if anyone is interested in getting thier FL and UT CCW look at www.gappnj.com for upcoming classes. I have one more listed right now and more will be listed soon.

GAPP has another CCW class coming up. This one will be held at the Young Republicans Club in Easton, PA with the live fire range portion at the Phillipsburg Pistol Club in Phillipsburg, NJ. Florida and Utah are the most sought after permits in the nation because they are the most widely recognized. We provide all services necessary to get a concealed carry permit in both UT and FL including the applications, envelopes, passport photos, finger prints, notary seal, and UT CFP instructor seal. We also help you fill in the application so it wont be returned for being completed improperly. For a course description, registration information, and other class dates, go to www.gappnj.com.

McCarthy's Magazine Ban Bill

Most republicans (and even many democrats) will tell you gun control is all but a dead issue in congress. So lets all hope for the greater good that this bill goes nowhere. -
CCW Have you ever had the need if we had it?

A firearm is a tool of last resort, when to pull it is the tricky part. If you pull a firearm too soon, you can be arrested for threatening behavior. If you pull it too late... well, its simply too late. The best thing you can do in that situation is have some awareness and it sounds like you did. -
Parker, thats a great looking setter. I currently own a GSP and a lab (pointing lab actually) abut my first hunting dog was an English Setter so I have a soft spot for them. Do you do much Ruffed Grouse hunting up in NY?
-
Most of the police officers I know are in favor of legal private ownership of firearms and people carrying firearms concealed (again, legally).
-
Yeah no kidding... its been, what, about 2 hours since I talked to you last lol
-
Thank you

I was held up at knife point by two guys when I was 21 (they took me for about $40 but no injuries)... I was assualted by 4 guys a few years after that (dislocated jaw and a messed up hand but I put one of them in the hospital)... and I almost walked in on my house being robbed a few years ago (not really a CCW issue but if I had walked in on them while they were there, it could have been). If I could carry in this state, I would... I carry pretty much everywhere else. -
They sent you a picture of your car speeding? Send them a picture of your money in return.
