  1. I can't find them anywhere used and only found two places that heave them new. I have one permit left that I intend to use (ain't going through that again). Any suggestions where to go. I located for $495 new....
  2. 125+ Yards away with a .22LR? Was this a magnum round or something? Not being disrespectful, but that is either one heck of a shot or I am missing something....I am at work so volume is low so maybe I missed something.
  3. Here is my dilemma... last time I applied for pistol permits it took 2.5 Months, $18 and just a bunch of red tape. I have three permits left (of four) to use in 5 months but not enough money. Heck, I will use them no matter what because what a total PAIN these permits are becoming!
  4. Suggested to wear "orange" hat on your way out and to tie a hunter orange band or bow around the tree you are under. Rather be safe and alive than hidden and dead. BTW, what is the best time to get to a spot? Do you simply walk to a spot you marked out the week before? Also, I can hunt in any of the "black lined" areas? http://www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/pdf/wmamaps/mad_horse_crk_no.pdf
  5. Depending on your speed you will pay to save points. Check with your Insurance agent to see if they have "Accident/Speeding" forgiveness. Most do if you had a clean record and it is 4 points or less for the infraction. Second, if you have some cash then go for the "Careless driving" plea.... However, it is about $450 but you avoid the points. Do the math if your insurance goes up for 3 years and is on your record. The plea usually works better. However, I got a PA ticket 4 years ago and the 2 points were waived from my insurance company so I just paid the $86 ticket and moved on. When my daughter was in an accident about 6 months ago we went to court and the prosecutor would call people in about 10 minutes before you meet with the Judge and explain your options. Good luck...
  6. X2.. I love my XD9 light years over my 92FS. However, I have held the PX4 (not shot) and it feels very nice and balanced. I like the Glock but the grip angle is so much different to me because I am used to the 1911 style angles. Oh well, to each his own. Get what feels best or just get both...
  7. Politicians and BIG corrupt government SUCKS! I love this country but these politicians are ruining the future of our children! BTW, I have little to no tolerance for liberals... these people are like dealing with Stalin and Marx. I swear they hate this country, have no clue and I have little time for people that want to destroy this country. I have never worried too much about our government... However, I have woke up a few times in the middle of the night concerned about what these crooks are doing. I am concerned about our future and freedoms....
  8. Hey I was anti gun only 1.5 years ago... well, not really anti gun but thought "why do we need them". Once I saw all the news reports of people buying guns and ammo it made me curious. After I researched the "whys and reasons" I realized the importance and reason for responsible gun ownership. I believe many other people have done the same thing and are realizing the importance and consequences if firearms are confiscated. I think I read somewhere that in the 1950's about 42% of people supported the right to own Handguns. Same study was done about 6-8 months ago showing 73% +/- Americans supported the right to own handguns. people are reading up on the Constitution and realize how the right to bear arms is a "fail-safe" to preserve freedom. Freedom is something we have all taken for granted until now... and now that it is being threatened we realize how precious a gift it really is.
  9. Dick's carries a bare bones 10/22 for (I think) $199 which I believe is close to the best price around. Stay away from the Remington Golden Bullets 525 bulk back of ammo - it costs $20 or thereabouts but is so generally unreliable that it is NOT worth the money savings. There are many in the pack that are out of spec, have no primer in the rim, etc. +1!! I had those JUNK golden bullets and they jammed, misfired and had a primer explode. I got through 30 rounds with about 4-5 problematic rounds and my son and I called it quits after that! What junk.... My CCI worked flawless with a jam one in every hundred or so... BTW, I get most of my ammo from PA or MD Walmarts. Can not beat $9.47 a box for 9MM Federal!!!
  10. I am new to this as well. I will go out with my son on the "Youth Turkey day". I'll have to go to the location and scout around for likely areas where Turkey's feed, mate, etc. I would love to "get one", but I am looking forward to simply spending some time with my son more than anything... he's mainly excited to be able to walk around NJ with a shotgun! There are quite a few good sites that give some good tips. Remember it is illegal to "stalk" a Turkey and unsportsmanlike to shoot one that is roosting. However, go onto the Wildlife management site for rules, regs, etc.
  11. CHEESESTEAKS!!!!!!!! duh Tony Lukes Roast Pork!!!!!!!!! duh
  12. It's a map to join to show other NJGF members and the Feds where you are located... LOL
  13. I have been to Disney a zillion times. There is a lot to do there and can not be seen in one week. What do you like to do? Do you have kids? If so... what are their ages? Let me know because there are A LOT of good free things to do depending on your preferences and ages of your children. For example: We stay at the "Fort Wilderness" cabins and they have free movies around a campfire every night. Please a free petting zoo and nice sights. take the boat from resort to resort (no charge) Also, we typically visit all the Disney resorts as they all have different themes. We take the Monorail from The Contemporary, to the Polynesian then walk along the lake to the Grand Floridian. We take the bus to the Animal Kingdom lodge... have lunch and then watch the animals! It's like going to the Zoo!! We stroll through Lake Buena vista (shopping village) and stroll the boardwalk. Then we hit a few parks on the "colder days" and in the middle of the week to avoid the crowds. Gosh, there is so much more to do i don't know where to start.
  14. http://www.resistnet.com/group/iresistguncontrol/forum/topics/us-agrees-to-timetable-for-un?commentId=2600775%3AComment%3A1925522&xg_source=activity&groupId=2600775%3AGroup%3A136 Need to research to see if this is true...
  15. Where, where, how, etc? I have always been "afraid" of reloading in case I screw up and someone gets hurt.... am I over reacting?
  16. Can someone suggest where to get .38 range ammo for less than $18 a box? Gosh, my range has HD JHP for $20 a box, Dicks is $19 for range ammo and online is $14 plus shipping, etc and ends up being $19 a box. I am used to 9mm at $10 a box.... this is killing me as she wants to go to the range more!! i was hoping for 500 rounds at $120 or so....
  17. Sounds like he's on the fence about guns.... I wish his message was a little clearer. LOL
  18. I am waiting as well. When I went in mid December he told me to put down 4 instead of 2 because of the uncertainty next year. he said i should have by late January. I just got my Florida CCW and want to get a 3" 9MM or Snub 38/.357... Right now all mine are 5" tacticals, etc. Great guns, but a bit bulky for "pocket" or "cargo pants" carry. So I will wait and hope....
  19. He just found a loophole... no need to register, it has his name on it already..... Can you say "inherited"?
  20. You didn't see the case of oil sitting in the back For weight and balance? LOL... I never flew a twin....seemed like everything is double, including price to operate. That is a cool plane, though. The video was pretty funny as well. Did he make the fuel too lean or something? Or was he on his check ride and the instructor pulled a fast one? Boy oh boy do I miss flying... I have to get back into it after my kids are done college in about 8 years. i miss those early morning and twilight flights in the late spring.... talk about soothing to the soul!
  21. I learned in a Cessna 150/152 then moved up to a 172 and finally bought 1/3 into a Cherokee 140 with a 160 HP overhaul. Got my VFR and 200 hrs under the hood and was ready to get my IFR . My partner passed away and i could no longer afford it... I really miss flying!! The kids miss it as well. However, the hobby that I continue is my love for music. I play the drums, Bass and guitar.... I have been playing the drums the longest out of the three instruments. In a cover band but the lead guitarist is now touring with a local band revived from the 80's... Lucky dog! Anyway, does anyone play lead guitar and looking to play in a cover band? Tom Petty, Beatles, STP, Oasis, etc. Also, I love softball, fishing, hiking, rebuilding computers, etc... anything outdoors I guess. Sadly, my new "hobby" is calling Congressmen, Senators, going to te parties and Town Halls to help protect our FREEDOM!! Without our freedom, none of these hobbies will be hobbies....
  22. I'm in... However, could I suggest Tony Lukes, then Nick's roast beef followed by a walk through North Philadelphia.. LOL. Count me in though! just got my CCW today and waiting for my hand gun permit to buy a 2"-3" 9MM. Otherwise I have to carry my 92FS or XD9 Tactical... Gosh, that will be hard to conceal! "Is that a gun in your pocket or you just happy".... well, you know the rest.
  23. I sent my Fl CCW the week of Thanksgiving and just got it today!!!! That includes having to be re-fingerprinted....Now what do I do with it.. LOL! BTW, on http://apps.carryconcealed.net/legal/florida-ccw-state-laws.php it shows NC, SC and NH as Non-Residential carry. However, on the reciprocity map it does not. Anyone have more info to what the exact states are that allow CCW? Never mind... clicked on the link on the first page of this thread.
  24. Thanks... I will go over there soon. I am now a member at Hauges courtesy of a Birthday present but I want to do some outdoor shooting at targets further than 25 yards.
