  1. Are the Fish and Wildlife ranges actually closed? When I lived in NJ the ranges were always unmanned. I lived right down the road from the Rt. 539 range near shooters. Is access to the road off of Rt 539 blocked? If not, then I would just shoot there. You will probably have the place to yourself.
  2. I have a 760 bdl deluxe in .30-06 and a Remington Model 6 in .270 and they are the most accurate hunting rifles I own.
  3. I find 30-06 very easy to load, especially on a single stage press. The reloading process is methodical. Follow the steps and you will be fine. As a matter of fact I have used an old Lee Loader (no press at all) I bought at a yard sale for $5 just to see if it would work work. It worked fine.
  4. I am up at the northern end, very close to the north entrance to Skyline. We just hiked their on Friday.
  5. This sounds a bit extreme. Following proper reloading procedures and taking your time will prevent issues, this is especially true considering that the OP is talking about using a single stage press. All issues I have encountered have been using my progressive presses and making ammo in quantity. He will be fine if he takes his time and pays attention regardless of caliber chosen.

    Glock 43x

I agree with everything @pjd832 says about this. I stopped carrying any of my Glocks (I have a lot of them) once I got the P365. It is my go to EDC. It is very easy to pocket carry in cargo shorts with the 10rd mag. I carry either a 12rd or the 15rd mag as a spare.
  7. African trailers are non migratory.
  8. I wasn't saying it was better than the Legion grip I have. It is very different and I am positive that I will be able to CCW the gun in the WC grip. It is very small in comparison. I like that I can also use regular 320 magazines with it.
  9. The grip feels really good in the hand. It has a 1911 feel to it, but smaller in diameter. There is a lot of texturing as well, not overly aggressive. I like the thumb cutout for the mag release as well.
  10. I recently purchased a Sig P320 X5 Legion at the beginning of the month and really like the way the gun shoots. I was looking for a Sig P320 full sized grip module to see how the gun handles with the lighter grip module. I found a Wilson Combat P320 grip module for $59 at Osage County Guns and bought that along with 2 Sig SRT kits for my P229 and P227. The grip module is awesome and the gun feels great with the Wilson grip. I shot 50rds through it on Saturday and I may be keeping it in the Wilson grip for quite a while. I highly recommend these grips. Here is a pic:
  11. As an example, I am taking 1/18/21 off work for VCDL for another lobby day. VA resident will show up in force. I know that I tell people and they tell two people...
  12. As was mentioned earlier, Virginia is the model for what should be done. I belong to VCDL and three other 2A organizations in VA. Every town and county has a group that has been formed through word of mouth and Facebook. VCDL is a great organization, they get the word out and people show up. No money involved. We had busses to Richmond from all over the state that were coordinated at a local level, not VCDL. The big difference here in VA is that people show up and are very passionate about the 2A. I took the day off of work to go to the rally because it was important enough to me. I never saw the level of commitment on a large scale when I lived in in NJ (including from myself). Just a lot of people wanting others to organize and never showing up when it counts.

    Glock 34

I agree, pedophile quite a stretch and not an accurate description.
  14. Not enough manpower is crap. If it were a priority to the PD follow the law, then the PD would find a way to get it done. Each application takes very little actual effort. Everything or almost everything is computerized and the searches for information takes seconds at most. It may not be malice but there is no reason that an application should take even 1 full day. The police were getting it done in under 30 days when the stupid FPID process was started many years ago. The 30 days limit was instituted because everything was manual and done through the mail.

    Glock 34

As with all Glocks, change the sights. I have finally changed most of mine and cannot believe how shitty the stock Glock sights are. I have a G34 and the sights that came on it were exceptionally shitty. I pulled it out of my range bag and the rear sight assembly was shifted halfway off the gun. They pushed back into place way too easily. The trigger on the G34 is pretty good, better than my other Glocks and I have never changed it out. Overall I like the G34 and think it would be a good gun to compete with.
  16. I agree with this 100%. I grew up with revolvers and still shoot my DA/SA revolvers in DA most of the time. I shoot my DAO Beretta 92D Centurion a lot better that I shoot the 92FS. I like the feel of DAO and shoot it well. Learning to shoot a revolver in DA is a great way to learn to shoot well.
  17. I am thinking about signing up for the 2 bag a month club and was wondering if anyone has tried the Freedom Fuel roast. I like a darker roast and this sounds pretty good to me.

    Africa

I am not positive but it looks like an M1919 Browning variant in 7.62x51. The grip is different, but everything else looks like an M1919
  19. I misread your post to state that only 5 states accepted the non-resident permit. My bad, you clearly stated 5 states only accept the resident permit. I should have read more closely. I just increased the font size so that I can actually see all of the letters in a post.
  20. This is not true. The OP was correct that 29 states honor the VA non-resident permit and 35 states honor the resident permit. The link you posted shows this. I am not sure about the fingerprint requirement for non-residents but as a resident I was not required to provide fingerprints.
  21. No, you can then get a non-resident VA CHP through the mail. After getting the VA permit you can carry in those 29 sates. VA is a "Shall Issue state".
  22. I would make sure that you do not use too much gun oil on the metal. The oil can soak into the wood and make it very soft. I have a 96 year old Winchester and have wiped the stock wi†h lemon furniture oil once.
  23. The problem I see with the pit breeds is that the instinct to fight other dogs is bred into them. Socializing a pit that is already shown to be dog aggressive is like trying to train a lab to not want to retrieve or swim. It will be a lifelong fight. It is best that owners of very aggressive dogs (not breed specific) keep them away from other dogs at all times.
