  1. +1. I haven't shot one or even held one, but have considered looking into one in .40 for the future. Congrats!
  2. I really wish I didn't have to work that weekend, because I would love to be there with you guys. Wanted to give you guys a heads up on a new rule at Dix: No Produce Targets. Check out my thread about my experience today. Went to Fort Dix Today (Oct 13th) and have a Heads Up
  3. So I decided to go to Dix today and do some shooting. I haven't done a lot of shooting lately and was really looking forward to going. My plan for the day involved going out and getting firewood in the morning (I'm off this week) and then picking up some pumpkins and heading off to Fort Dix in the afternoon. I was really looking forward to shooting some pumpkins. I picked up 9 for $20 in different sizes. Cantaloupe sized pumpkins cost only a dollar! I ended up only bringing 3 medium sized ones to the range. So I knew that usually with fruits and such you didn't have to clean up after yourself. Plastic bottles and such you do. I've never actually brought any "produce" to shoot before. When I got to Dix I asked the girl that works there what the rules were for stuff like pumpkins, just to be sure. She then tells me she's not sure if they will let me shoot them!? Apparently the other day (weekend?) some people were not listening and throwing pumpkins and other produce out in the trash cans(?) and not in the dumpster and the Range guys were getting pissed. She said I could go ahead and try, but didn't know if they would let me... So there I am shooting the AR at 100/200 yards and the P226 and S&W M19 at about 15 yards at standard bulls-eye cardboard backed targets for like 45min. Then these guys come out and setup a mannequin at 100 yards wearing what looks to be body-armor and start shooting at it... Okay game on! Next cease-fire I'll bring out the pumpkins and the SKS with Hollow-points! I put one at 25 yards, one at 35 yards and am almost at 100 yards when over the loudspeaker I hear: "Are those pumpkins? ...Produce is not allowed. If you have pumpkins, please return them to your vehicle. Pumpkins are a produce! ".......!!!! WTF. So back in the truck they go. Talked to the girl when I was all done and told her I got "yelled at". She told me that she wasn't sure if they were really going to enforce it, but it looks like that is the new rule. No Produce! Today was the 1st day! Maybe they will get over it? Just wanted to give everybody a heads-up. I know people were looking to do some pumpkin shooting, but looks like it's a no go. I guess they've gotten fed up with dealing with a couple assholes that have to go ruin it for everyone else. Had a good time anyway. Had a good laugh with the people around me about the pumpkin thing. One woman had gotten really excited when I brought them out. Got a couple: "What is that?" "Is that Legal?" for my Yugo SKS. I love that thing! No more Produce Targets at Fort DIX!
  4. Welcome to the group! Definitely a good crowd here with a very vast wealth of knowledge!
  5. ...8 days for my last PP. They were trying to tell me I could only apply for one every 30 days! That should hopefully be cleared up now. :icon_neutral:
  6. That first video is painfully slow! It is an interesting looking rifle though. I had never seen one before. Looks good.
  7. Just checked my stash for Independence brand stuff and I have one box left of 9mm with a head-stamp of "I" and 2.5 boxes of .357 and .38 with "Blazer" head-stamps. I had never noticed the difference in stamps before. The "Blazer" stamps make sense if it's made by Federal.
  8. I've shot plenty of it in 9mm without any problems. Somebody told me once it was made by Federal?. Don't know though.
  9. I have some stripper clips, but have never even used them. Never heard or thought of loading from the bottom.
  10. I noticed the recent increases as well. Glad I heat my house with firewood!
  11. Yikes! Never seen one in person before.
  12. +1 for MOLLE. Been thinking about getting something myself. Found this pic online a while back. It's a bit much and may impede some movement...
  13. Nice Stripers! A group trip sounds like a great idea! I haven't made it out much this season. Haven't at all yet this fall.
  14. Gotta say that's pretty cool. Would love to see someone put one on something like a M44!
  15. Because they call them "Roundabouts"! Welcome! What brings you to a NJ forum? Yup...
  16. Loading ramps are ridiculous when it comes to how dumb people are when it's time to load/ unload their boats and such. Ive' heard of people that go to busy ramps and just sit and watch all the people that don't know what they are doing all day long. Lots of funny stories! Would be nice if they could talk that way, but most would probably freak out.
  17. I'd like too, but my sump basin is only 10" x 11" x 16". I can only fit one pump in there and it has to be a narrow one. This is the one I ended up getting: RIDGID Ridgid 1 HP Submersible Sump Pump w/Lifetime WaterSense Switch
