I think the ANTI's or those on the fence do not have to change their mind about themselves owning a gun, just do not be anti about the entire gun issue. If they do not want to personally own one, OK but don't force their own agenda on us and make us think we are the problem, I feel we just need to educate them, and have them be ok with owning a gun.

I had that problem with a dry fire, I was worried, but at the range, and in the woods, no issues, so I was figuring it was because I had a round in the bolt? I don't know, now I will be overly cautious. Glad I saw this posting, so I have an idea when I take it out again. Mine is a Rem 700 30-06.

I taught my son to always respect the guns we own, and we have them locked up at all times. If he was sleeping over somewhere and a gun was out with out an adult or even with an adult, he would state the safety rules. If there was any indescretions going on he would call me to pick him up. Then I would confront the gun owner. Teach the kids early to be safe.

Remember, not all the police officers are ass holes, Give them a break, they have a hard enough time doing their job. Look at the cop in Fairfield who got shot pulling someone over. It is also the law to pull over when an emergency vehicle is responding to a call, and I see way too many people who do not give them the right of way.
