Even though I was DQ'd I will be back, never like going out on a bad note. Actually was fun even after I was disqualified and JJ was very nice to chat with.

Maks, sorry I didn't meet up with you guys. I got there about 07:45 and started setting up. I was on stage 7, but my first stage. I shoot 3 targets, realized I went passed one and turned back, but passed the 180 degree. I should have just walked backwards, but with the adrenaline running I didn't even realize what I had done until the RO told me. Beginners mistake I guess, but everyone there was very nice, told me that had all been DQ'd before. Like the old motorcycle saying there are two kinds of riders, those who have been down, and those that will. It hasn't dampened my enthusiasm to shoot it again. My mistake, and hopefully I won't make that mistake ever again, although I am sure I will make others. Still looking forward to meeting up with you guys at a future shoot.

No I left after I watched a few stages, kind of takes away from it when you can't shoot.

Well went to my first match today and got myself disqualified . I broke the 180 degree rule when I swept back at a target that I had passed. The rules are enforced in a one and done fashion, with good reason. I stayed around for awhile after I got DQ'd so that I could learn some more. I will be doing it again as it was fun right up until my mistake. What I took away from it is to know what you want to shoot in sequence and go slow. Nice group of people, although I didn't get to see a lot of people from the forum, except Mike. Great meeting you.

I spoke with Dave M. last night who runs the meet at OB. Very nice guy, as I explained that this will be my first time . He advised anyone who has never shot one of these to get there early and find him so you can get a safety brief. I am going there at 08:00 to help set up and get my briefing which will include a live fire reload. I will be driving a gray Saturn Vue if anyone wants to meet up early.

They were about 5 or so. You know when they start getting curious and play off on their own, it's also at least in my case where i felt they could understand that they are not toys. I took the to the range when they were about 8 or 9. Now they love shooting when they can (youngest just started college), and I've taken a number of their friends, with parental permission shooting also.

+1 on the demystifying part. When my kids were young I took out my guns, unloaded an let them hold them. I told them that if they ever saw a gun around, do not touch, get an adult. After so many times of asking to handle my guns they were just like my power tools when I was using them. When they got older i took them to a range and let them shoot. Take the mystery away and you will have much fewer problems, and not just with guns.

Shane is this a true co-witness mount? I was looking at the H-1 but if the price point is good I am interested.

Just registered for Saturday's match. I have 4 mags for my Sig, with one on order so hopefully that will do. this will be my first time so hopefully I have everything correct. Is anyone going to be meeting up beforehand? Anyone need to go early for safety brief?
