  1. I just finished an Appleseed today and the 10/22 was a pain in the butt. Jam jam jam and there goes your score. Specifically when it hangs, I rack it, the stuck round flies out and I see that the bullet tip has been shaved off. I clean it after every use including last night after Appleseed day one. I use Ruger and the clear plastic banana mags. We're talkin about 250 rounds per day - all Winchester Viper 1400FPS. Rifle about a year old. HELP!! Any clues out there? I hope you're not gonna tell me I need $300 of hot parts to make it run good. LOL Danke shoen very much.
  2. Now, now Ladies and Gents. The Reps and Senators of Trenton, NJ and Washington, DC are working on your behalf. They know what is good for you. They work for the common good. Please respect them and their work. Just follow their lead. Do what they say. You will be better off for it.
  3. Concerning the forum, point well taken. I'll try to be more 'civil', etc. That is good for the forum and good for me too in that I won't be that 'whacko' person out there. (Maybe it's too late, eh?) But concerning laws/criminals/right/wrong, we could probably go on for pages and pages. So let me try this to be brief. 1776: The citizens of the American Revolution disobeyed the laws of the King. Therefore they were criminals. But the good news is that they were not sheep. 2011: IMHO Thousands of laws. Millions of sheep. Thanks.
  4. Hey thanks. That really is interesting but even more, it is nuts. So far I am only a buyer not seller. Looks like Sanjeep Gupta (no offense intended) of the 7/11 is going to jail IF somebody turns him in. He has a bunch still for sale and each will be a violation 'count' no? Could be in jail for years. I believe this lighter is primarily intended to burn any book which has any NJ law printed inside. Don't they say some laws are made to be broken? So except for guns if it is stupid, if it hurts nobody, if you probably won't get caught - go ahead and enjoy. Screw the Gov. Sorry I gotta go - over to PA for some fireworks. Amen.
  5. This is it in light rosewood (I made that up). It's not a Saiga, variant or anything else. But if your gun unfriendly friends come over - light the grill and start a conversation with a new AK (lighter). $10 at 7/11 Moorestown, NJ.
  6. From the original post: "He also converted it from a two stage to a single stage." I should have used his words. My SGL two stage trigger does have some (oddly not always) ugly slap. I greased it some which seems to have helped a little. I'm wondering if the single stage mod eliminates the slap.
  7. It's a nonsense filler called 'lorem ipsum' = gibberish and I inserted some other words to make it even worse. Some of my serious posts have fallen into this category. LOL. After sooooo many pages I saw that FearThis was an expert in this "language?". I just wanted to respond in kind.
  8. Thank you, thank you, Pizza Bob. Perfect. LOL. Enough already. Wiedersehen und Adios.
  9. Please explain OC and CC in a vehicle in PA. Sounds like the gun goes in the trunk, period, no? Thanks.
  10. Agree 100% or +1 or whatever is kool to say. Liten up folks. These posts are conctantly fuel of typos, bad spelling, bad grammer and more. I aint got no problem wif dat. It is only a problem when the errors change the meaning. Once again (I am a copy cat) from Rodney - "Can't we all just get along?" Peace and love and lots-o-guns.
  11. Nice read and thank you. I fully agree regarding those who fought for our freedom. However at this time we are losing daily battles to the intrusive gov. and, I think, the war is also going badly. Concerning Gov. Christi, he is refreshing and I support him. I say this in the absolute and also as compared to others like Corzine. From my perspective there is a lot more to learn about Christi regarding our forum issues. Sounds like there is a lot to NOT like. Maybe you could elaborate on what he has and has not done. Thanks.
  12. Set up or not the Officer is an ignorant a**. Didn't know the basic carry law - oh yeah just like most jurisdictions in New Jersey. Peace to all.
  13. Amen john. The State of the State = Joe Stalin. The Cops smell drugs and they break in. The Feds suspect terrorism and they break in = no warrant. If you are innocent and talk about the incident you are charged. The Great Patriot Crap Act. I feel so safe.
  14. Good stuff nearby, Knoebels Amusement park in Elysburg. Great old fashioned park. Not invaded by wild people from City of New York (LOL, sorry) like Six Flags. Buy tickets - go on ride - no million dollar daily fee. Friendly people for sure. Also Valley Gun Club ( and country club) down the road - don't know much about it. What a combo - golf and guns!!
  15. Thanks Glen and Vlad. That Hornady site looks good. In the meanwhile I also found Spot On at Nikon Hunting and also a ballistics calc. at the Winchester site. What I seem to be discovering is that scope height makes a big difference in where the bullet hits.
  16. I got the same crappy story from Cheyenne months ago. They had that problem and now just don't want to be bothered. That's their loss of sales $$$$$$$$$. Shore Shot got my bucks. Vlad, you are to be commended. You are THE MAN, THE PROFESSOR. This question comes up like waves on the ocean and you calmly give a quality answer every time. Thanks.
  17. This is AK specific so I feel it belongs here not in optics or rifles. I'm guessing I'll get a bunch of answers some of which I will understand. LOL. Say I zero with iron at 25 and get typical ballistics 25/0, 100/+4?, 200/0. All is wonderful. If those are not typical then what is??? Now I add a scope. Where should I zero - 25, 100?? Objective is to hit approx. 8 inch target from 25 to 200 with no hold over/under. Also want to understand relation of scope height above bore to resulting ballistics. Thanks you all.
  18. Nikon ProStaff 2-7x32. I think I am headed for riser land. Or maybe a NATO length stock instead of the current Warsaw. Or even a pinned adjustable style. Thx all.
  19. I guess this is wierd but still want to ask. What happens if I mount both rings between the adjusting turret and the eyepiece. Scope in cantilever mode, vibrates and self destructs? Lousy shooting performance? Why? Rail is only 4 inch. Trying to move scope forward maybe just an inch or so. Didn't want to use a longer riser/rail. Thx.
  20. Not tried yet. Just received the 15/30 mags. Don't think they will work out from the bench, too tall. Been using Shurefire 15 and Kvar 10 with a rest. Anyway, anybody shoot resting on any mag size? Any negatory effects? Thx.
  21. Nope. Short dark hair. Maybe the tallest on his team.
  22. Somebody wanted pics. Here is my Saiga in black. Pretty exciting, eh? Actually I like it a lot. When you be really really old like me you gotta scope it or you might even miss the sand pile at 200+ at Dix 14. BTW I liked that green one posted above. Nice!
  23. I am always confused. Just ask the AK guys. So here is more confusion. One variety Mosin mount goes where the removed rear sight blade was. That does not work very well. The entire rear sight assembly is mounted on a dovetail and can be removed completely. Then you can get a scope mount for a scout scope that goes into that dovetail. This should be rock solid.
