Lol. VW/Audi doesn’t make it easy to work on, I’ll grant you that. I do all my own maintenance and troubleshooting, but I’m smart enough to know when I’m above my ability or equipment. Fortunately, other than wheel bearings that were killed with my pothole incident, my VW’s have been nearly trouble free.

Lol. I’ve always had great luck with VW. I’ve had 2 Jetta’s, 2 GTI’s, and now a new Tiguan for Mrs Tex. Never had a lick of problems with any one them.

Actually, a very long time ago on my last boat, someone dropped a sail access plate overboard during maintenance. They were made for each submarine. We had to cover the hole with duct tape until we could have a plate made. It was approximately 12”x24”. Surprisingly, it lasted several dives before we received the new plate.

This is quite possibly the funniest thing you will see all day. Mrs Tex sent it to me.....

I sometimes have this issue. My GTi has DRL’s, but without automatic lights. They are bright enough at night to fool you into thinking your headlights are on. My wife’s car has DRL’s with automatic lights...and it’s sometimes confusing when I swap between vehicles. I’ve solved this problem by getting in the habit of turning on the headlights in the GTI every time I get in it. Day or night. On another note. A feature that Audi has standard on their cars is a ‘strobing’ of the 3rd brake light under hard braking conditions. I like this feature, as it warns drivers behind you of sudden stops. Really gets your attention. I have enabled this feature in the GTI via programming software. I have to check if my wife’s Tiguan has this feature activated, and if not, I’ll enable it in the computer software.

Pop rivet a piece of sheetmetal over it and replace the door when you can.
