  1. If i pick up my new pistol by then i'll probably go on tuesday, lots of stress to alleviate... and new toys to play with
  2. Any one ever consider less then leathal ammo? Like bean bag shot shells? Dunno if you guys ever saw the jackass episode where johnny Knoxville got shot with one, he didn't look to good afterward.
  3. The primary thing to consider is if your ever questioned regarding the legality of the gun, you want a clear cut way to prove it was inherited. The easiest way would be to have the will or notarized section which clearly states this. I wouldn't take any chances and would only suggest doing it this way, even better.. you get around registering the firearms.
  4. I'm not certain about PA, but some states recognize the magazine as part of the gun, if the magazine is loaded the gun is loaded even if the gun is in the trunk locked with the mag locked in a separate container. I think CA follows this.
  5. These are not classes designed to inform the public of the rules/laws and regulations. Take it for what its worth.. I too would be wary of such classes that can misinform, but its not his job to teach the laws, its his job to teach/train the class for it purpose. On the other hand he should not be teaching or clarifying the laws either, in all seriousness it's a very bad move on his part, its not part of the class and could get him in trouble.
  6. Correct me if im wrong but i believe there is no such thing as open carry in a car. A gun in a car constitutes being concealed....
  7. Don't forget in NJ i believe a year or two ago they recognize driving "drowzy" or sleepy to be just as bad as driving under the influence. Don't ever use the excuse im tired! Vlad makes some very good points i cant help but support. Medications in particular effect individuals differently on many different levels. I've seen people smoke a little weed and freak out, and i've seen people take down boat loads of smoke and be just fine. That's just a small example, but again two people being prescribed xanax...one could operate a vehicle and be fine, while the other can't stand up, sometimes its just the effect the drug has on you in particular and doesn't even have to do with tolerance. Now the problem is the way you determine if some one can operate a vehicle... If you can pass a field sobriety test then that should be the end of any questioning....but rarely is it. The sobriety test should focus on your ability to operate a car...and they have a good method in place already. I don't see the need to go anywhere near blood testing. If you fail the sobriety test, breath test away, if refused it's an automatic fail and you go to jail. I dont know if you guys know this but a blood test is extremely expensive, your looking at over $1k for one test. This country is really set on the whole drug war money pit that's been in place for so long. I'm more for cops actually making sure people are OK to drive then wasting money on what exactly there "on". If you can't drive safely then you should be fined/locked up/license revoked/ what ever! but to waste moeny just trying to figure out what exactly there on seems pretty redundant, you know they can't drive, cite them, arrest them, move on.
  8. i have plenty of blue loctite from my r/c hobbies(the big bottle) so i'll probably apply some when i get my hands on her. I may replace the sights somewhere down the road for the trueglow ones, or unless someone knows of better ones that i can just throw on. Edit: picked her up, what a beauty! need to buy ammo! thanks everyone for the advice, you guys didn't make it easy
  9. I'll have to look into that mag loader, looks like a great idea for sure! I was looking into the strip kit for the rugers, seemed pretty strait forward, but im gonna wait until i pick it up on monday strip it down and see if i have any real issues getting it back together. Most the videos i've seen make it look pretty easy, but we'll see. Man i can't wait for spring time, i really need to join cherry ridge now, i've accumulated 3 firearms since august and i still want more! Now that my permits ran out i need to stock up on .22lr and 5.56 rounds. got plenty of 9mm.
  10. Well i pulled the trigger on the Ruger! Pun intended! When my friends P2p's come in im going to nudge him to get a buck mark. While i enjoy the finer details of mostly everything, he's just wants something that shoots good and is easy to maintain. My decision was based off that i could live with buying either pistol, but if i got the buck mark, i would just keep thinking damn that was a nice ruger.
  11. I think every major highway in north NJ was jampacked today around 1:30pm, it makes you think...does anyone work in this state?
  12. I don't think i've ever found parking there.... i always park down by the tracks...i wonder what the legality of walking with the guns to the shop is... kinda feels like a sketchy area too. You can def. find parking with in reasonable walking distance...i'm talking like half a city block. My biggest issue there is trying to get stuff in and out with the general public not knowing, carrying a rifle case could be sketchy..It's a semi rough area and u dont want people jumping you on your way back to your car.
  13. Yeah, knowing what ammo is actually in there would be my first question... i mean are u getting a deal? or just crappy ammo at a decent price.
  14. I was gonna say... that just didnt look right..what planet is that? oh its upside down...
  15. Best idea i've herd yet lol. maybe hire some of the investors to be professional zombies..ya kno give em a chance to make some of there money back ha! I'm more for airsoft tho. I herd some guy purchased tho whole project for a couple million...after a couple billion was spent on it.
  16. Obama...what a joke. He'll let the LEO's keep there guns after retirement but no one else can have them. Other then being a retired LEO, what right do they have over anyone else to carry in a state like NJ? This is just too one sided...i see nothing more coming from this, and it will not progress any 2a rights movements as long as obama is signing the end line. To me this is designed to give more power to the government thats it.
  17. i could see overlooking the weight of 700 22lr rounds, other then that it's about 20lb's of 9mm. Either way he knew what was in there unless a) hes senile or B) someone else packed the suitcase But it was primers....not ammo. Ammunition supplies not ammo.. I really hate the media. I'd like to know how these were set off, poor packing i can understand but it takes a significant amount of force to set them off.. The r/c community just recently ran into hazmant issue shipping batteries. LIPO batteries, associated with electronics, such as r/c's and laptops, have a cell limit now, i believe u can only ship 3s (3 cell) batteries via air. They were having issues with them catching fire in mid flight. Again, lipo batteries are very safe when sitting idle, the only danger they pose is when in use and most notably when being misused(over discharged). The issue they didn't want to admit was they were being poorly transported and mishandled, instead of improving there shipping methods they banned them. So now, they have twice the amount of smaller batteries being transported and no large ones. they basically changed nothing and made the end user suffer. These batteries made it to the plane with no issue, yet they were shorting out once packed on the plane. We all know a short is a short, it happens when it happens, if there being shorted out on the plane then it was the packing/handling that shorted them out. These batteries are also packed in bubble wrap contained in individual cartons, it would take a lot of force/mishandling to really crush one and set off a short. It's the same with every other shipping company, they are more concerned with the bottom line then doing things right. These airlines are merely people shippers, and they will ship you and your stuff no differently then ups will ship a package, they take your money, they will chuck your packages/luggage to save time, cram you in like sardines and pretend to listen to you if you have a problem.
  18. State police are quick with Background checks, less then 5 days. The rest is up to the PD. A friend called up the NJSP and they said they couldn't give out any info regarding his check, but they did state firmly that most checks are sent out withing 3 days of request. The rest is up to the PD including reference checks, mental health check and so on.
  19. It's open Cougar season in OK didnt anyone get the memo.....
  20. I love the snow....just as long it doesnt fall in my driveway!
  21. All i have to say is My BACK HURTS! Put a new carb on the snowblower and now it over revs... one tire was flat and wouldn't take air... I need to get this friggen thing running. I think im gonna just put something small in between the throttle and carb body to keep it from opening all the way, the moms pickin up a tire and some sheer pins.
  22. I just shoveled my drive way, were nearing 14in... i should probably go back out there soon and start again...guh...
  23. Just ordered a pair for 70 shipped... great deal + the coupon even better!
  24. The buck mark is also about $100 cheaper. It's not that i'm worried about saving money, just getting as much i can for what i spend. However, it does come with only one mag and if i wanted to throw a sight/scope on it i would have to buy the rail for it. The ruger comes with 2 mags and the weaver style rail if you want to mount it. I'll probably never mount a scope or it, this is more for practicing quick target acquisition( getting on target quick, getting off the rounds and moving to the next one)at short range. Honestly i'll probably end up owning both of these by the end of next year lol. If it weren't for those silver grips on the ruger i would buy the buck mark. Also the price request is still down, i'd like to see what shops in the area could do.
  25. I've been reading a lot about the breakdown and re-assembly being a pain, thats not really a concern because like any firearm, u have to learn its in and outs, once u know how to do it like u said it becomes easy. Im very patient with building stuff, and i enjoy a challenge anyway. The rugers look sleeker too in my opinion, very sharp!
