  1. I stock the Streamlight ProTac HL at my shop for $79 and would sell them for $69 to forum members. They are very bright but have more of a flood pattern. I find myself using the HL if I need to light up a large area and for distance I use a Streamlight Strion HP rechargeable. If your near Lambertville and would like to see one give me a call. My info can be found at ces4less.com
  2. I prefer Nikon myself. Had a D80 and now the D7000. The lens is the most important part like others have said. A good lens will cost more then the camera body. Most of the kits have lower quality lens. Although some still produce some nice images. If your considering Nikon look at the D5100 and a 18-200mm VRII lens(lens #2192) the camera body is $450 and the lens is $850. That should give you a good all around body and lens for most outdoor sports. Indoor sports gets a little tricky. Sure you could pay $2000 for a faster lens but that will come after you get familiar with what you can do with these cameras. Good luck in your search. Not sure where you are located but I recommend a shop in South Hampton Pa called New York Camera and Video. Large selection of new and used. They are also 5 minutes from Classic pistol so you can hit the range the same day.
  3. No not full load. I don't have a meter hooked up to it so I don't know what I'm drawing but i have my entire house live but only run 2 or 3 lights, fridge and a basement freezer, 32" flatscreen and the kids on there Xbox, modem, router, and furnance. The generator idle kicks up when fridge or furnance kicks on but then idles right back down. Its got a 3.4 gal tank and I usually have just below a 1/4 tank after 12 hours. I've never let it run out so i could actually be getting more. I've noticed on Yamaha's site it shows 19hr at a 1/4 load. I've had this one for about 7 or 8 years and I beleive it was rated then for 14hrs at 1/4 load.
  4. For inverter generators my vote is Yamaha. I purchased the EF3000ISEB about 7 years ago. It has never let me down, fires right up. Many time have had it running 24 hrs a day for 4-5 days and now 7 days with last weeks storm. It has never run low on oil either. I have city water and oil heat and i can run a fridge/freezer. A 2nd freezer. Heat, tv's and lights in my house with no problem. The auto idle is also a great feature as when on the motor rarely runs full throttle. It will go 12 hrs on 3 gallons of gas for me also. If i were to do it again today and had the $$ I would go with the EF6300ISDE as it offers 240 volt. But when i purchsed mine it was the largest of the inverter models. I had compared both Honda and Yamaha and was a tough deciding between the two. I have heard good reviews on the others mentioned here also but the quality of the power and the noise level were important factors for me
  5. I just sent you a PM with my info
  6. The streamlight Strion LED rechargeable is one of my favorites. I carry Streamlight, Pelican and now Coast products at my store. Pm me if you have any questions.
  7. When i was a teenager in the 80's we use to walk around with our Pellet Guns and no one even thought twice about it. We were always safe and never did nothing stupid with them. I even bought a shotgun on a class trip to a sportsman show my senior year in high school. Brought it back on the bus with no issues. If I were to do that today I'd be in handcuffs. Why are so many people affraid of guns now. What changed in the last 25 years.
  8. It comes with 12 bits but if it can hold more then 15 you can't have it in NJ.
  9. Not me. When my current phone no longer works then i'll look for a new one.
  10. This article was on NJ.com Zombie apocalypse? CDC says not to worry, despite strange string of incidents Brent Johnson/The Star-Ledger 06/01/2012 8:40 PM If the news has you worried lately that a zombie apocalypse may soon be under way, don't panic. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, you're not likely to find the dead walking around, gnawing at your flesh. "CDC does not know of a virus or condition that would reanimate the dead (or one that would present zombie-like symptoms)," agency spokesman David Daigle said in an e-mail to the Huffington Post today. Yes, you read that right: The federal agency aimed to protect the United States from disease outbreaks has officially weighed in on the possibility of actual zombies. The comment comes after a string of strange incidents involving seemingly non-human behavior over the last week. • In Miami, a naked man was shot by police after eating the face of another man on the side of a highway. • In Maryland, a college student told investigators he ate the heart and brain of a dismembered body found in his home. • In Hackensack, a man stabbed himself and threw pieces of his intestines at police. • And in Canada, police are searching for a porn actor who allegedly killed a young man with an ice pick, dismembered the body and then raped and ate flesh from the corpse. Apparently, people feared this might all be connected: The phrase "Zombie apocalypse" trended on both Twitter and Google in recent days. Even the CDC has a page on its website dedicated to "Zombie Preparedness." But that is simply a tongue-in-cheek page with a very serious message: "If you are generally well equipped to deal with a zombie apocalypse, you will be prepared for a hurricane, pandemic, earthquake, or terrorist attack," Dr. Ali Khan, the CDC's director, says on the site. But no, the agency says, zombies aren't real. 11. But is it legal in NJ to hold more then 15 pictures on the memory card
  12. Its on AMC today, watching it right now.
  13. Check out the Winchester 24 gun safe at Tractor Supply. They are a very nice safe and even includes a accessory door panel. They are $699 but often go on sale for $599. I picked mine up a few months ago during a 3 day sale for $549. http://www.tractorsupply.com/winchester-reg-gun-safe-24-gun-capacity-1043297
  14. If your in Frenchtown I would check with Wiecen shooting range in Furlong Pa or the Bridgeton Sportsman club in Upper Black Eddy. I'm not sure if they allow .50 cal but there close to you http://www.wicenshootingrange.com/ http://www.bridgetonsportsmen.com/
  15. Well the 2nd place I visited today here in GA was Academy Sports and Outdoors and they told me they can only sell Long guns to neighboring states and that was a GA law. So maybe it's not just company policy.
  16. I did go by Bulls Eye just to check it out prior to going to Bass Pro but my son wasn't with me and was not planning on getting him another rifle at the time. The range I shoot at in PA rents class 3 also. We'll today I was at another store picking up some sale items and they had the Marlin I was looking for on sale for $89. But again when I told him I was from Nj they said GA state law only allows them to sell to bordering states. I always thought you could purchase a long gun from any state.
  17. Yes I had my FiD card but they had a list of states they could sell to and NJ was not on it. I don't recall exactly what states were allowed. I'll be back in NJ next week and will just have the local guy I deal with order it for me. I can wait but my son was a little bummed out. Seeing what others are saying from Bass Pro Shops in other states are the same way so it must be store policy. Thanks again for your replies
  18. Thanks for the replies. If the one in PA won't sell to NJ then it must be a store policy then. I know if i'm ever near one in PA then I won't bother stoping then. Thanks Again
  19. Well I'm on Vacation in Georgia for a week and decided to go to the local Bass Pro Shop here since I've never been to one. Well I find a Marlin 795 for a good price that I was going to get for my son but when I told the salesman I was from NJ he tells me that NJ is on there list of states they can not sell to. Whats up with that. Is this just a Company policy or State? The look on my sons face when I told him I couldn't buy the rifle for him was heartbreaking. We just left without even buying some other items I was looking to pick up. Any info on to why this is would be appreciated.
  20. Cabelas in Hamburg PA has them on sale for $99. They are Mosin Nagant 91/30's in 7.62x54r and come with ammo pouches, tool, cleaning kit, oil cans, sling and bayonet. They must have got a large surplus of them. I was up there on Friday and sold 3 while I was at the counter. Ofcourse I was one of the 3. For the price its a nice piece of history that actually functions. They are in very good condition also. the one I got was dated 1943.
  21. I've never traded anything in with them but have bought a few pistols from Buds without any problems
