I visited this shop a few weeks back. While everyone is very friendly and the store is nice, their prices are pretty steep. I looked at a few different things - 2 S&W M&P's and a Remmy 870. All were well above MSRP. But...they DO have the stuff there, ready to sell. My visit did help me on a shotgun decision - I will buy an 870 with the MAGPUL accessories. However, I'll buy it off Gunbroker and do the transfer through Jeff/Wortendyke Arms.

I suspect that new rule has something to do with bears. I was on the pistol range one day two years back when one walked out of the woods opposite of the firing line - where we all park. Everyone on the line had his back to the bear. Kinda surprising. Another member noticed it somehow and called a cease fire. The bear just walked towards the other edge of the parking area and wandered back into the woods along the left side of the range. I usually take a break and have my lunch in the open passenger side front door of my car. I know it sounds nutty, but something about eating right on the line with all the gunpowder residue floating around just never felt 'right' to me...but walking just 30ft away is ok, lol!

I got a big, fat year-end bonus, so I decided to start buying as many of the guns I had on my wish list as I could. The Newtown, CT shooting really threw a wrench in things. I already had a decent stockpile of ammo, but I decided to try and fatten it up a little anyway. So I started buying - right before it really dried up. Thanks bry@n, lol.......

Primarily for protection. As a few others have mentioned, I too am intrigued by all sorts of machinery. Guns are just one more machine for me to tinker with.

This is positively insane. The administrators who run that school system need to be hung. I'd wager that someone in that school system is out to get the teacher for some other reason and used this incident to get at him.

All of the comps suggested so far are good products, but they do not direct blast away from the shooter or from other shooters to your left or right. In fact, they direct blast right at folks to the left and right. Look into the stuff from Battlecomp. I have a few. They work.
