  1. This is my favorite. It took me a while to find a good link. Its not safe fore work or kids! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/11/couple-sex-on-google-street-view_n_3055660.html Ken
  2. I travel a lot. You wont get rid of me that easy! Besides that, I know you want to get some cool toys when you settle! Ken
  3. I must say that I have had a very good year with this forum. I have met a lot of you and found some good friends and some good times from this forum. I belong to many forums and met many people from them. This one by far is the best. Happy new year everyone! Ken
  4. That post isnt likely to start a bunch of bitching and whining so its alowed to stay. That catbox is somewhat un moderated so people can just be jackasses and insult each other or practice any manner of crappy behavior. Funny thing is that it stays kinda peaceful. Ken
  5. Heres my little bit of advice... If you are going to go into reloading for the long haul and load bottle neck rifle cartridges skip all manual trimmers! Go rite to the giraud trimmer http://www.giraudtool.com/prod02.htm. When I first got back into reloading i didnt think I needed anything like this. To make a long story short, afer wasting over $250 on various trimmers I purchased the Giraud one. I dont know why I messed around with manual trimmers. Two good ball powders that I have used in the .223 are Winchester W748 and Hodgden CFE223. I think they are similar since they run so close in load data. For my accuracy loads I get better results with Hodgdon Varget but that is a stick powder. I prefer the sizing wax method for (either imperial or the hornady both seem to be about the same, just a different color). for small batch riffle cartridges. For doing large batches I break out the old school lube pad. For strait walled brass I prefer the hornady one shot or RCBS case slick spray lubes. I will second the DO NOT USE Remington 6 1/2 primers. Just read the box and it tells you not to use them on the .223! Any other primer and you should be OK. Try to use the same primer that was used in the load data. If you cant get them then use the best substitution you can find. Use a standard or a magnum where required. Even if you flip flop them your loads will probably be just fine but there is specific situations that one is a better choice. Read as much as you can in your reloading manuals and you will start to figure out why. The most important advice is this. We all where new relaoders once. Never guess, always ask or look it up. It is a fun and rewarding hobby. Also remember this : buy once, cry once. That is a very true statement. Ken
  6. It sounds to me like you have youtube all figured out. There are a LOT of people that are self proclaimed experts in all kind of things on youtube. There are also some people that really do know what they are doing too. If you try to look up something on youtube because you know NOTHING about it you can really get into trouble if you find an idiot first! Ken
  7. Dont feel too bad. I just found one from 2 years ago when I was cleaning my office. I didnt know what to do with it so I shredded it. I dont think I could have gotten it extended. Ken
  8. The Giraud case trimmer has taught me something... Not all presses are created equal! It taught me that my RCBS Summit press is a POS. This trimmer trims off the shoulder of the brass. The summit press apparently has a high deflection in it. My trimmed brass had a variation of .010" when sized with the summit press. This is not acceptable! I did some research and apparently I am not alone here. I re sized on my rock chucker and got no more than .0005 variation in overall length. I also sized a batch on the rock chucker first and got the same .0005" variation that I can live with. These results where all with LC .308 brass. When I ran the batch of LC .223 brass this did not happen. The .223 brass sizes just a bit easier though. This would explain the occasional hard to chamber round I have been trying to figure out. I have contacted RCBS about this and they are going to work with me on it. I post this because I am sure that someone will try to do their research on the Giraud trimmer and find this post. I know I found tons of em on many different forums before I purchased mine! Now that I got it all figured out I get perfectly trimmed brass, perfectly sized brass, and perfect OAL brass. This thing is great! Kwn
  9. That looks like fun. I know where I can get a couple of big anvils..... Ken
  10. If you have sequential serial numbered star notes they are worth more as a set. Thats about all I know. The three in a row that I had got my $60. They where all 1953 series if I remember correctly Ken
  11. I have been using Eezox for a while now. Im glad I have some validation for the price of that stuff. I will surely continue using it now Ken
  12. Just had my last great lakes flaming river now Im working on a blue moon. Its been a long day! I forgot how intense christmas can be. There are now three 3 year olds (one is mine) at the family holidays and christmas was crazy! When Im done with this blue moon I think Ill have one more then Im crashing! Ken
  13. Thanks guys. Just to let everyone know, I am 100% alright. I am no stranger to death but as I age more and more people are dieing off. Its just the unexpected ones that hit home and 2 in a month rattles me a bit. It gives me the reminder not to let anything pass to deal with later when it comes to friends. Deal with it now and live every day like it could be gone tomorrow. Ken
  14. This December has not been a good one. http://www.nj.com/mercer/index.ssf/2013/12/i_cant_believe_that_this_is_how_we_would_find_her_missing_hightstown_woman_found_dead_in_east_windso.html And http://www.trentonian.com/general-news/20131224/hightstown-fire-lieutenant-dies-after-returning-from-residential-fire Both where friends of mine and will be missed dearly. I just want to use this as a reminder to everyone to reach out to distant friends and family and even bury the hatchet if need be. Life is short and ends without reason or warning. When things like this happen you cant make any changes to the past. Make every day count Merry Christmas Ken
  15. Like above with some jam band kinda feel. Ive heard them described as blues rock also. They are mellow yet intense is what I tell people that have never heard them! ken
  16. Yes they do! I saw them there one year with Motorhead. Motorhead in that place is absolutely brutal! Ken
  17. A bunch of my friends and I are going to see them at Starland like we do every year. Anybody here going? Ken
  18. One thing here I did not see mentioned by anyone is lube. If I dont lube the back and bottom of the bolt good I is a little tough to rack. A little lube and it is one heck of a lot easier. The Mk is a great pistol but i think some of the surfaces are a little rough. Ken
  19. Ill second the RCBS 5-0-5. It has proven itself more accurate than some digital scales. I like to keep it simple. Ken
  20. I thought he was further up by the quaker bridge mall? That whole corridor of rt1 has changed so much since I was a kid. I remember when most of the htings on Rt1 one werent. That diner has been there forever though! Ken
  21. start reloading. After the initial investment ammo becomes a lot cheaper! Ken
  22. Not around here they dont. Once they get their approval they move FAST. They will spare no expense to get a store open quickly. Ken
  23. I used to live rite across the street from this diner. It is in really rough shape and most likely will fall victim to the wrecking ball. It would be nice to see someone relocate and restore it. Unfortunately Wawa is involved. They dont wait for anything when it comes to construction. Ken

    308 or 30-06

If you handload you can work up to some very powefull 308 loads in a bolt gun. I have both and I always seem to get better accuracy out of the 308. Both calibers are just fine but I prefer the 308. There, thats my $.02! Ken
