Well in keeping with the new family traditions, the gang and I are headed up to try Rock Mountain Sporting Clays in Meshoppen, PA for an early round and then back in time for dinner. Nothing big, just a simple turkey dinner with sides. It's hard when most have to go to work on Friday, so decided years ago to cut back on the prep workload.

10 round magazine limit all but certain??
T Bill replied to gunnarsport's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
Ms Peel, it used to greet you at the 'border crossings' between PA and NJ. I believe it said it best -
Sig for its ability to morph into frames, etc. The ability to move the serialized trigger group to different configurations is the handgun of the future.

When Did They Start This?
T Bill replied to gfl216's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
The verification of employment inquiry should only state you have a process pending with the PD. My complaint for years has been the letter states you are applying to buy a gun. Big no-no for me and I did make them aware of it. They didn't care. However, I move from there and that was the end of that. -
What do you typically get your significant other for his/ her birthday?
T Bill replied to Zeke's topic in General Discussion
Hall sex works. When you pass her in the hall, "Happy f'in birthday!". Works for me. -
Drain may have no pipe to snake. Most were just drains set into the concrete to drain under slab. May have an abundance of floor crap built up in the slab bed. Careful what you wish for. I have seen drain water erode and settle the stone base leaving a giant air pocket under the slab that collapses with time.

Good move there. -
Last two times I ordered tires, best price delivered to door was.....wait for it....Jeg's. Hard to believe but true. Mounting done locally as I have access to mounting and balancing machines.

Looks nice, performance not so much, keep looking. It's Kel Tec's cousin from the other side of the tracks. That's all I will say.

Live in milestone where to go for fid
T Bill replied to tomgwarrior's topic in Firearm Hobby / Sport Discussion
Bridgewater if he is in Millstone, Somerset County. If in Millstone, Monmouth County then find out what station from Troop C covers that area by calling the Troop C HQ Hamilton (609) 584-5000. -
Live in milestone where to go for fid

Local NJSP barracks, or if the town uses another police department to protect the town, that department. -
To each his own. Build time was less than an hour, no gas so no timing, just fit some parts together and tighten. Mine is similar to HE, just picture a fixed carbine stock, no light, sling, or stop on hand guard. Wears a TRS-25 RDS most days. Great plinker at steel. Co-habs with the G17G4MOS w/ FF3. Have a JR Carbine as well, but that changes between 9 and 45.

Dave's on point, period. For now, all bets off after 01/16/2018. NJ tube can be made by using a copper pipe cutter and replacing the cutter with a washer and finding the sweet spot, read legal, on the tube and making an indent deep enough to stop more than 15 rounds from loading, but not too deep to restrict action of the spring or follower.

Hard to say as I already had parts lying around. Figure $600 to $800 with prudent shopping. Joebob's supplied the KAW stuff lower from NFA direct. Black Friday is coming and so is Murphy so .................

Thinking of Ordering a CMP Garand and Need some Input
T Bill replied to JayWilling's topic in C&R Military Surplus
GET SOMETHING! IMHO the original will be worth more in the years to come. As time moves forward they will stand out. The 308 rebuilds, not as much. Parts will be around for quite a while yet, cost? who knows. If your going to reload then ammo cost is not a real factor in the process. As far as gas systems issues, yes firing new ammo may turn your op rod into a pretzel, if your reloading no problems otherwise just get Garand Gear Ported Plug and shoot away, or a Schuster plug. Schuster does require adjustments between different ammo. FYI, great '06 load for 100 yards in a M1 is a Hornady 155 BTHP Match COL 3.21 or ELD Match COL 3.24 loaded with Varget or H4895 to 44.0 grains, plus or minus a few tenths gets you 2500 FPS, YMMV prudent loading and such. Good Luck, but please get one, you'll love it. Wouldn't trade mine for anything. -
Did a build using New Frontier 9mm Glock lower and BCG, Kaw Valley barrel, comp and buffer (Faxon makes the barrels for KAW), an other assorted parts I had laying around (PSA LPG less trigger, 15" Keymod rail picked up cheap, redid a trigger group I had, Magpul Fixed Carbine stock, etc). Replaced firing pin due to manufacturing issues (NFA replaced no problem), otherwise performs flawlessly, including last round bolt hold open even with cheap Korean mags. Very pleased with results.

Shooting Alone vs. with Buddies...
T Bill replied to Mrs. Peel's topic in Firearm Hobby / Sport Discussion
First learn the firearm. Everything about it. Learn how to take it apart and put it back together beyond what the manual says is necessary for cleaning. Do it until you master how it functions. Prime example is the Ruger Mark II, nice pistol, but with a tough learning curve. Master it, and you will see how simple and reliable it is. Almost all of my malfunctions were due to something the book said was not necessary to worry about. Sounds involved but is not really. Second, know your ammo. If factory, use a brand you trust. For me that's reliable brass cartridge ammo from reputable sources or loaded by me. Learn how the gun sounds when shooting that ammo. Learn to recognize when it does not sound right, and STOP! Always, pick up your brass and check it for things like flat or pierced primers, split case necks, excessive powder marks on the outside of the casing, etc! All ammo can fail, factory or reloads. I have more apprehension shooting next to someone I do not know and know even less about their firearm. IMHO,there are always signs before methyl-ethyl-badshit happens. You need to train yourself to know those signs. -
Lock up your CC though, Tanners in Jamison can be wicked tough to resist.
