Absolutely. Further, send a certified letter to the Mayor, detailing exactly what has happened so far and on which dates. Make sure everything is neat, adheres to the style of a formal business letter, and there are no typos. CC the letter to the chief of police. If you're unsure of how to do any of the above, send me a PM and I can help you format, edit, and even craft your letter. Towns pulling crap like this really ticks me off.

I've never hunted, so I don't know the first thing about blind etiquette, but why didn't you politely ask them to get out of your blind? Is that poor etiquette, i.e. it's first come, first served?

Be polite and don't threaten, at least not at first. Cite the 30 day statute. Mention other cases you know of where it took less than 10 weeks.

Glad I went! Had a great time with some great guys on my squad who were very helpful and gave some excellent tips on strategy, timing, technique, etc.

I'm relatively new to practical shooting (although I did compete the OB zombie match back in '11 when I was brand new). Is this a good match to shoot as a production beginner?

As far as I can tell, what you are suggesting is completely legal. You are inspecting the pistol face to face, at the premises of the FFL, but never actually taking possession of the gun yourself. Once you've inspected the gun, the seller hands the gun to the FFL, you then pay the seller, you then pay the FFL his transfer fee and shipping, then the FFL mails the pistol to your NJ FFL of choice, where you will pay another transfer fee and NICS, then take possession. It's legal, but hardly seems worth it.

As an example, I know MD has a law on the books that they will only sell to contiguous states. FYI, from my unofficial record keeping, I've found that the smaller the shop, the more likely they are to agree to a long gun sale. But they'll look at you like a chicken with two heads when you whip out a COE and ask them to fill it out.

My shooting buddy took the class on 4/14 with GFH. He got his permit last week... about 85 days total.
