  1. That thing is freaking gorgeous. Perhaps the deal of the century lol!
  2. Unfortunately that is pretty much the consensus it seems. I have seen some folks using the same Mechanix gloves at the shooting range while using ARs/AK clones and they have always seemed a bit off but....REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE ALWAYS SHOOTING FOR YOURSELF AND NOT TO WIN A STYLE CONTEST. I cannot stress this enough!!! On one of my break-in sessions I fired off 500 rounds of some +P 9mm JHPs (I know I know, not "that" impressive) and my thumb has a permanent scar (was a blister for the longest time) now. Now, it isnt a big deal since I have played hockey for around 15 years at this point and have plenty of scars but it seems like it was for nothing. If you want glove wear them, if the heat / blisters are not bothering you much , ignore them.
  3. http://www.oakley.co...-palm/94025-001 If you are going to be doing some pretty intense courses alot of people seem to be using these. Beware, they are the definition of Tacticool. If you are just shooting at a range...just get used to it. =/
  4. Sorry, didn't mean to say that the physical impact of the shell casing was the problem. Meant the erratic ejection could be a sign that your casings were dinging the ejection port in an odd manner leading to stovepipes and other failures. But it seems like you are going to test the crap out of it (as should anyone) before putting it as your go-to HD gun anyway so it was a moot point. Sorry if it seemed like a jab.
  5. Gave me a solid chuckle lol. Considering not eating for awhile to buy that DDM4v5 I have been eyeing. =[
  6. Ever consider changing the LEM configuration to light LEM or the T.G. special?
  7. Some sales stores have really poor CS unfortunately. =/ Make sure to steer him away from paintball also since that can get ridiculously pricey.
  8. Glad you like it but...is it acceptable to be hit in the face with shell casings nowadays?
  9. Very nice build! Have just started reading up on building my own AR from various sites (chiefly m4Carbine.net and AR15.com) and have been intrigued by the plethora of options available for a custom build. Still not sure whether I am going to go that route or grab a DD of some sort.
  10. I keep my mags loaded constantly except for one marked especially for range use/snap cap duty.
  11. I thought the run on ammo has been on for a few months now?
  12. AC has some pretty shady areas. And i would assume this is in response to a rash of robberies?

    Finally

    That thing is gorgeous!
  14. Cleaning is slowly losing its magic to tell you the truth. At first it was like a magical world underneath the slide where German HK gnomes were residing and working their stuff. Now it is a clinical and sometimes tedious activity.
  15. No stickers here! A co-worker of mine has an HK and a Glock sticker on his back windshield but then acts like you are offending his rights by trying to strike up gun conversation.
  16. I loved the "Why the f*** do they even need dual recoil springs for a 9mm"
  17. The advent of interchangeable backstraps has single-handedly improved the ergonomics department of all firearms. I only wish they did the sidestrap deal like they did with the P30. Not sure why that did not happen again but maybe it is because of the limitations of the wider .45 ACP magazine?
  18. I usually eyeball the pack of ammo as soon as I get it. Buying in bulk instead of at the range gives me the luxury of inspecting prior to loading. Also when I load mags I make sure to feel the case rim and usually that keeps me from loading rounds with QC issues. So far I have not had any issues with my SD rounds (Remington Golden Sabers, Hornady TAP / Personal Defense, and Gold Dots) but usually weed out 1-2 rounds per bulk pack of Federal/WWB this way.
  19. Very nice acquisition ! Feels like there are not enough HK owners out there. =[ I am contemplating whether or not to pick up the HK45 /45C to keep my P30 company or go with the FN45 Tactical (gotta love the thought of a RMR on a pistol)
  20. Had a tough time buying 2k rounds of 9mm last time I went to my LGS. He told me that it gets like this every election year and that there was a huge run on 5.56.
  21. Like hd2000fxl said the XS Big Dot sights are extremely quick to pick up. Most glocks though that I have seen/shot have had the standard Trijicon "Bright and Tough" sights.
  22. Welcome! Quite a few of us Bergen County people on here.
  23. Hope it works out well for you! My buddy painted his g26 front sight a bright neon orange and I made my p30 front white. So far they have stood up pretty well. And if it ever does come off it is pretty much a 2 second touch up job. Since you paint models as well you probably have an extra fine brush so that will work just fine.
  24. Oh wow, that is terrible. Some irate customer who was kicked out of the range probably.
  25. Good to hear it is back up and running. What happened?
