I've gotten a bunch from Toms River PD. They usually run 3-5 weeks for a permit.

This will hold little weight with Dr Cocteau, aka Mayor Bloomberg, or his liberal anti gun DAs.

Great, so now whenever I carry legally in NYC under LEOSA I have to worry about Bloomberg's goons hassling me on every street corner.

Watch him all the time. Wish I had a range like that in my back yard.

Firearms laws in NJ get worse, not better. Corzine's useless 1 handgun per month was NJ's latest assault on NJ gun rights.

The Congressional and Senate elections are just as important as the Presidency. Obama can wreck havoc by loading the courts with anti gunners, but little else. Congress makes the laws such as AWB and mag and import restrictions. The danger and what Obama is playing now, is that the Country's woes are all the fault of Congress. He will use this to push for his own re-election as well as putting the Democrats back in charge of both houses, so he can get things done. That is the real danger more then anything else. Obama free to load the courts and both houses of Congress under liberal control with truly be the end of gun rights. God help us all.

No judge is going to be the one who issues a CC permit to someone and have it back fire on him/her. It's all about CYA and if the culture and philosophy in NJ is not to issue, then Judges aren't going to issue, no matter whether or not they are conservative.

NYPD has always been retarded when it comes to handguns. Does anyone remember the fight just to get 9mms? Some there would still be happy to see officers carrying the old 38 revolvers in the open top "peta bread" holsters they used to use.

Blame NJ's stupid pistol laws. Considering you still need to go through a federal instant check, there is no reason to require an additional step for handgun purchases. Also wilth all the LEO cut back in the state and increased demand for firearms, delays are now the norm. I'm lucky enough to live in a town that is pretty good with the whole process (Toms River). They have a full time person to work on firearms and permits only take about 3 to 4 weeks.

As long as the Democrats control the NJ Legislature, guns laws will never improve in NJ.

Don't count on it. NJ is a may issue state. The fact that they don't issue won't play into it. Nothing will change in NJ if this passes, bet on it.

Toms River is about 1 month.

Toms River PD is great. They have person who works full time just doing Firearms. Handgun Purchasing Permits usually take 3 to 4 weeks, from which I'm told is pretty good.

If one was presented to me, I would have no clue if it were valid or not. NJ might as well not even have CC.
