Even better: http://www.justfacts.com/guncontrol.asp (also posted in the other thread but might as well spread the goodness)

I keep seeing this mistake. It did not expand background checks. He can't do that with an EO. That can only be done with laws, either state or federal. All he did is ask the ATF to send a letter to FFLs about how to do NICS checks for FTF in case such a law were passed or people voluntarily wanted to do it.

The truth about assault weapons...

This is another good website to use: http://www.justfacts.com/guncontrol.asp -
Both are equally important. 1-on-1 conversations that educate and hopefully convert people are effective in the longer run because people may vote smarter in the future. However that does nothing for the short term, for the politicians already in office. For them you need to show them your strength and numbers and for that a public display/rally and contacting them is very effective.

Obama Press Conf. Thread - Combined
SpacemanFry replied to RecessedFilter's topic in General Discussion
I agree. This is mostly window dressing with very little substance. This is GOOD. Hell, I wish he made another 23 EOs with BS like this to further give the hoplophobe retards out there something to hang their hat on. As always, the true fight is in Congress and that's where we need to make our voices heard. In fact I think these EOs did us a favor, by giving some democratic reps and senators an out to vote against any further bans by saying something has been done and more studies are needed etc... -
Obama Press Conf. Thread - Combined

Thanks DirtyDigz, that was a really good blow by blow coverage for those of us who couldn't watch this farce. The thing that makes me sick the most (and this is true of all politics) is that blatant theatrics with the kids and all the bs. -

When I registered for the rally on the NJ2AS site a few days ago I believe it showed a number of 320+ registered. Now I can't find any number showing. The train station has a large parking garage for people driving in. For people coming from farther away it would be best to use train or bus to come in as the traffic in the morning near Trenton can be crazy and parking will be an issue.

Awesome time and awesome people! And after they fixed the scores (apparently my classifier was missing from the Nook version) I did decently. If only I hadn't messed up that last stage Nick, remember don't limp wrist it! All joking aside though, it was painful to watch all those malfunctions. Hope you figure out what's causing them.

Wee... finally free to make it to a match. I will be there.

Ammo Group Buy Poll
SpacemanFry replied to East Brunswick Sportsman's topic in Ammunition & Reloading
I'm a little confused with a snarkiness of some people. I must have missed the gun to people's heads forcing them to read, reply and buy the ammo. Think of this as same rules as the Marketplace, if you don't like the terms don't buy and move along. Keep up the good work guys and here's hoping you turn group buys into a regular thing. -
I'd be interested in 9mm for sure. Also 12ga & 5.56mm depending on pricing.

I'm doing the one in the Poconos on the May 13th with an Army buddy and some other friends. I think the Arctic Enema is the one I'm least looking forward to.... Glad to hear you finished even with the groin pull.
