Talk about timing... I'm in the same boat. I bought by oldest, 9 years old, a bear brave compound from dicks. I think I paid 45 for it. For me, I'm looking at a Mission Riot compound box. It's uber adjustable in draw length and weight. Since I'm cross eye dominate I needed to get a lefty and one that could have the draw weight lowered until I build up my shoulder.

Dick's in Easton Pa is sold out of Mav 88s. I was there today to buy one. Only 1 pardner pump as well. Stuff was flying off the shelves in the 30 minutes I was there. The only items they would not honor Black Friday prices was on ammo.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. It's truly helpful. While I don't expect to be denied the permits (bought 5 guns in the past 12 months) and recently cleared NICS for my mosin....it's just the bureaucracy of the state that has me wondering. My first set of permits and updated FID card took exactly 7 weeks...next set of three took 11 weeks and this current set of 3 is just shy 12 weeks with no end in site. As for the finances, I never buy items I can't afford to pay off in the same month so I'm not worried about that.... I guess I just don't want to buy one and have to leave it at the FFL for an undetermined length of time. Man I really dislike this state...

So I dropped off paperwork for 3 new permits in September and I'm still waiting. The SP still hasn't cash my $6 check so it's looking like I definitely will not have them in hand before Black Friday. So my question is...how many guys "buy" a pistol in advance of getting their permits? Does anyone fear not getting "approved" for their permits in this state? How was the store you dealt with? Any thoughts would be appreciated

Sorry I have to disagree with you on this. It's not being a helicopter parent or pussified parent, it's called caring and NETWORKING. In today world, finding a job is all about who you know and networking. FRAT brothers do it, club members do it neighbors do it....it's a fact of life. OP- if your son with work in Malvern/great valley PA let me know. It's not glorious work, but it's steady and in the pharma world.

I haven't bought a new gaming console in years. I'm still staring at my PS2. Haha. Now that my boys are getting older I've thought about getting a new one since the Wii they have is getting boring for them. When I stopped in at the local game stop both workers stated that the PS4 is a much better system from a hardware perspective. Better video card, faster processor and overall proven design. They ended by saying they each have the PS4 on order. Considering the price is pretty close, we decided to get the PS4....
