How will terror list exclusion work?
SFDevine7 replied to wooly bugger's topic in General Discussion
I don't think they care as much about the firearms as much as they care about security. Giving that list, or even letting people compare a name to that list is another security risk. The way things are going with the secrets of the Feds, pretty sure they would never allow it. This is what I'm hoping as well. Christie knows it can never be enforced, the anti's will just assume that it is and will be happy in their bubble. Then things will go along as usual. Same thing with the mental health records really, it violates HIPAA which is a national law. No way a state can violate that just for NICS checks. -
OK awesome that means mine should be here real soon

Were you in the GFH class? Thats when I took it and havent gotten anything yet, so hopefully real soon

When did you take the class?

Do we have a count down for Christie?
SFDevine7 replied to sure shot's topic in Pending Legislation Discussion
My guess is he will veto the ATF trace data bill. Then he will veto one of the other two and try to play the "I'm trying to make both sides happy card". The other option would be veto all and have some remote shot at the POTUS nomination OR Sign all three in and switch to democrat -
So considering the fact that I am at day 125 (just over 4 months) and was told by the PD that it shouldn't take more than 3 months. I should probably start going up the ladder with it. I've contacted the PD and all they said was we will get to it when we get to it. Any chance you still have those letters?

This is huge. My school's library had this issue, all 15 Access Points were permanently broadcasting on the same channel making the internet almost useless

I also have the netgear and it runs very well.

The surface is awesome. My gf has one as well and I love playing around on it. Haven't actually tried any actual work on it though A 256 ssd isnt bare bones unless your planning on having lots of music/movies. I built my desktop last December and I have a 128ssd in it, mostly just the OS and Office. I then have 2, 3 terabyte drives that store my movies and music, about 4 of that is used. I've been looking into getting the surface since I now only use a desktop and would like some portability. But I find it hard to justify the price seeing as I can just use my phone to remote into my desktop or ftp in for any files. I have looked at the chrome books and like them but it would outside of simple browsing and document use I didnt really feel the need for it. For OPs purpose I think both would be a bit of a stretch with his price range, you can get a tablet or a laptop that does everything really well or you could split the money and have two average or below average pieces of hardware to keep track of. And for the non-tech savy it may be a pain to keep track of all the data.

They teach basic microsoft office skills for use in business at my University but thats all. If you want more computer classes you have to be a CS or IT major. Then you'll obviously learn all about computers. I'm dual major CS and IT and the biggest thing to learn is Excel, nothing better to handle all types of files no matter the size. That being said, huge CSV files will be the death of me. But you are right. For the most part my generation (21) knows next to nothing about computers. Basic internet browsing skills and word documents, I've even seen finance majors not know Excel had functions.

buying that Dell would be perfect for everything but torrent downloading. With the 256ssd you wont have all that much room to save things on the computer but you could easily get an external drive that could hold everything. It is a bit overkill for your needs but for half price its hard to pass up

Member from NJ2AS just posted on their facebook that they received their Utah permit yesterday after taking the class "End of May" I took the class May 19th and haven't heard anything yet.
-
Aren't we special. Our gun laws are so bad other states accommodate our needs better than our own state.
-
I think how I read it from the Utah website was that if the non-resident Utah permit was honored in your state then you would need a resident permit from your state, which makes sense. However since NJ does not honor the non-res Utah permit you are able to get it. Just how I interpreted it

oh wow SWAT Firearms is about 50 feet from my girlfriends house! Awesomeness

I put my papers in for 2 P2Ps on 4/4/13 as well in Washington Twp. No reason for the hold up, WT doesn't even contact the references. Contacted them and they said "If I haven't called you they are not done, be patient and I will get to it" And that was it. I was told 3 months when I handed them in, which would have been 7/4 -
I like it. Fellow eagle here, looking at getting something similar on my shoulder as well as my irish family crest

Is the front license plate optional in NJ?
SFDevine7 replied to ryan_j's topic in General Discussion
See I actually agree with that reasoning, but it's not bad enough for me not to do it. I have every window tinted, entire windshield included. 5% on the back half, 15% on the front and 35% on the windshield. I love it and dont think I could go back to driving full time without it. Yes it makes it more difficult to drive at times but it's not very hard to get used to, having HID headlights makes it much easier as well. I've only gotten pulled over for the tint once and was let go, I think the law enforcement license plates helped. Oh, and I have my front license plate tinted, never had a problem with that. -

Only if the cop wants to be a dick will he give you a ticket. Guy I work with got pulled over for it and argued with the cop because he said he wouldnt drill a hole into the bumper of his ferrari. Cop gave him a ticket for it, so my friend just registered all his cars in Florida where its not required. I never have a problem with my windows being tinted. I dont think many cops in my area care anymore about that. But you are right, its an unnecessary risk on my part -
I was wondering if anyone had any updates of the time frame they are getting permits back after applying. I took the class in early/mid May and I believe it was around 60 days then. Has anyone heard anything back?
