  1. I'm so focking tired of this. You've just now given me stress again. I submitted my FPID change and P2P app around the same time in Feb to the State Police and still waiting. I also had false dismissed allegations and 2, count em 2 successive TRO's that Nappen defended me against a vindictive ex in 1999, that the court even held her in contempt. He never mentioned anything about needing to get them expunged prior to any sort of additional apps. After everyone I talked to (including some in LE) they all told me to not worry about it, and just submit my apps--I was going to get a lawyer to submit them, but that would have taken funds away from any purchases. This was Lautenberg's doing.
  2. Print your own forms and turn them in. The STS33 and the SP66 can be found online. If you look long enough, even the 212a can be found.
  3. Just passed day 38 on address change, 1 P2P for me, initial FPID and 1 P2P for the wife. I know our references were called, and my wife had her prints done within a week of the app. What's really weird is my neighbor, who was a reference for both of us, dropped of his initial FPID app about 2 weeks after us, yet STILL hasn't gotten the call to go get his prints done-and they haven't called me for a reciprocal reference. This is the speedy Kingwood State Police, who foreshadowed 3 months-I'll be just a little aggravated with that...
  4. FYI regarding AZ CCW: being from New Germany, I too had concerns about what "training requirement" AZ has as a condition of CCW. When I called the gal in Public Safety again, she said "so long as the class is an NRA or equivalent safety course, we CANNOT specify the type and scope of the class required". I'm trying to move the wife and I to AZ in the next 4 years.
  5. I'm well aware of it--at which time would make every single firearm in the state illegal. I use that argument as it relates to the PRIVILEGE of driving, and how if your vehicle is capable of a certain speed, you do in fact have intent to do so. I have no doubt that there will be someone drafting such a bill. I also ask why, if drunk driving is illegal, are all vehicles not equipped with the breathalyzer interlock device. If it saves one life...
  6. Awesome. I know I'm a pest because I asked you about it on NJ2AS Facebook page...But I like my swag.
  7. Absolutely insane. So we have laws which punish without INTENT of a crime that we MAY commit, and further punish for PARTS that we MAY be able to assemble into something scary. Good God the masses who agree with this are unbeleiveably stupid. I'm waiting for the ThoughtPolice to make it illegal to even THINK about purchasing a firearm. It's coming folks. It's coming.
  8. Okay, this got me thinking, and I'm guilty of it just as much as the next guy: Let's stop calling it an "FID", and call it what it is, which is an "FPID". The former implies a "Firearms ID", of which could mean that you must have one in order to actually possess firearms. While the latter defines it as what it truly is: a "Firearms PURCHASER ID".
  9. Dumbest people ever--THIS is the sort of law that ALL firearms laws should cover, and frankly, I agree with: If you use them in commission of an actual crime, or are a "prohibited person", extra charges are tacked on. Same thing with bullet proof vests. For far too long we have people who think they "know" the laws, and feel the need to "educate" others on what is illegal that which is not. Sad part is that I've encountered many in LE who think the same thing. I'd like to think that if firearms are such a danger to society--the knowledge of firearms laws would trump everything else. This is why I have a full copy of the NJ statutes loaded on my iPhone. Also recommend a copy of Nappen's book--it covers just about everything
  10. They're not. Any more than gun safety by implementing Eddie Eagle in every school. You don't need a gun safe because you shouldn't own firearms anyway.
  11. Depends. Is there a gun range at said Jersey shore? You're also still restricted by the Orwellian transport laws.
  12. I want an NJ2AS flag please. Minimum 3X5
  13. Since when? NJ FID is a license to PURCHASE firearms as a NJ resident--So long as you are not a "prohibited person", and the firearms you possess in NJ are NJ legal--there is no requirement to be a NJ resident to own firearms in NJ. You just might need to run "over the border" to get ammo if you need to.Get a PA license.
  14. And for this reason alone--The Police Departments should be CLAMORING to revise the process to eliminate this stupid paper based system. EVERYONE who has an outstanding FID should call at day 31 to demand their licenses. Drown the system--they can't throw "everyone's apps who irritates them to the bottom of the pile" if everyone called.
  15. Got it-but ultimately the transaction begins and ends with the buyer and seller-no other parties need to be involved? (Except for the P2P). Private sales are absolutely the way to go right now-especially with the low inventories and stupid NICS turnarounds. So long as you can find someone willing to sell their guns-but most of the guys in the local hunting club buy and sell guns amongst themselves all the time...
  16. That's Assembly bill A9732, right? The problem is Cryan doesn't have a bunghole...he shits out of his mouth.
  17. Thread hijack: So long as I have a P2P, private sale of handgun only requires each party complete COE, correct? No need to transfer to FFL unless its someone from out of state?
  18. I'm pretty much done-just met with the boss on Monday about relocating my job remotely to Arizona. Same job, same boss still here in NJ, same salary. Only 2 issues are the wife getting a job out there (but she's in healthcare, so I don't think she'd have much of an issue) and selling our house-I absolutely REFUSE to take a loss on the house we bought the end of 2007. So it's most likely a 3 year plan: put the house up for sale in 1.5 years, and 1.5 years to sell. (We also live in a very rural area, so the demographic that wants to live 20 minutes from ANYTHING is specific) I've had it. In fact, the wife's parents are down with joining us in about the same time when her mom retires.
  19. I need to do this too. Mine is the State Policd here in Kingwood. When I go to pick up my address update FID, I plan on hitting them up for print cards, side they have to ink my thumb ANYWAY.
  20. Holy crap this thread is embarrassing. That said-my wife said the same thing as others: she wouldn't have thought about it again because we all know that criminals don't use holsters.
  21. Thanks-didn't think so. Was just curious. I've never bought a firearm person to person before.
  22. If purchasing a handgun person to person, do you have to pay tax somehow on a used firearm?
  23. Since no one seems to be able to find true ballistic evidence except Cryan, this is the magic number we need to argue. But yet again, I will continue to argue the stupidity of ANY mag restriction debate. FORGET EVEN CHANGING MAGS. If these madmen know they're going out, they will just bring a sack of guns, toss them away when empty, and grab ANOTHER GUN without having to bother to reload. Based on this, perhaps we can persuade Joe Cryan that we will "concede" legislation which permits us to legally restrict us from CCW only 1 weapon at a time. Win for Joe.
  24. No, it's kind of not defined. See the SAF vs NJ sticky. There's no way anyone can convince me that being targeted by HA is not being in danger-or a part time Sherriff. There's no reason that those should have seen a court room.
