  1. Cabela's is right there! I've been there several times...you cannot buy ammo or firearms now, because you need a Connecticut issued card of some sort to buy (what the Sandy Hook folks did to Connecticut and want to do to us), You can though, buy components. Go figure
  2. Same price for the NJ-compliant and non....even better deal than when I bought. (And $20 cheaper) The "Compliant" comes with a heavy barrel, no brake/flashhider, no bayonet lug, and a steel 10 round mag. I REALLY like mine... When I was last at Tanners, no 15-round mags, but 10-round p-mags were $12 or $13 each. BTW, did I mention I really, really like mine...

    $15k O/Us vs $230 870s

Yes - its all part of the trapshooting 'game'
  9. Actually I did, and they did, and they were more concerned with pulling the bullets off the shelf than dealing with the problem at hand (i.e., me).
  10. I guess I'm the next target...(pins bullseye on chest)
  11. My wife and I are the exact opposite...she's the Connecticut Yankee, and I am the born/bred Jersey boy. We already have the smaller "retirement-size" house, a nice piece of land in the middle of South Jersey that's back and away a bit from the hustle, bustle, and congestion (but not TOO far) for her, a barn for her horses, state ground with trails to ride almost at our doorstep, and taxes that aren't TOO bad, all considered. But we are both growing tired of the continual actions of the NJ "Nanny" state, with its perchant to create a law for everything under the sun, and slowly getting bled dry by the endless laws/taxes/user fees/etc and the higher prices for everything that come along with it. Even with all the above that's going for us, location-wise, she is set on leaving NJ upon my retirement (in the not-so-distant-future), but heading North, not South. (Remember the Connecticut Yankee bit? She's as far south as she will go!) Personally, I feel like I'm being run out of here...abandoned by the home of my birth!
  12. I was in there this weekend...their sign was flashing 'we have .22LR!' or something like that. Their shelves also appeared well-stocked with ammo. I always like going there...I've found many great bargains over the years.
  13. We ALL need to be realistic! The guys showing up at Chipolte with an AK slung across their backs ARE WHACK JOBS! They are doing this to draw attention to THEMSELVES, not for any other noble purpose...They are NOT helping us, and I want NOTHING to do with them!
  14. Stupid laws deserve to be ignored. Its the only way to survive living in New Jersey...just remember "you have the right to remain silent..."
  15. WT NJ permit.PDF Paperwork for a PTP Waterford TWP - Picked up 30 May 2014
  16. I'm still a little troubled by this post. Why did the police tell you to "reapply" when he was having trouble reaching your references? Why can he pick up the phone and call your references, but he can't call you and let you know he is having problems calling your refs? And then tell you to re-apply? That's terrible advice! While I am happy it all worked out well, a little communications ON BOTH ENDS would work wonders.
  17. Tread VERY cautiously on this one. First, I would NOT "just re-apply" - that will mean you have a denial on your record (your first application), that you will have to explain from now onward. At the MINIMUM I would appeal it...and you only have a short window to appeal, so dont mess around with it. But even before that, and rather than messing around with us non-legal types, I would find an attorney who knows the firearms laws. Evan Nappen comes to mind, but he's probably too busy to deal with this sort of case anymore...but I would find out who does, and get him on the case PRONTO. Search this site....there are several good atty's mentioned here somewhere.
