  1. We had a conversation about that also. We discused retirement plans and I was told if I get an unrestricted permit from my next home state my restrictions will be lifted. I have also heard from other residents that after a year and an NRA safety course restrictions will be lifted so we shall see in a year or so.
  2. NY state. Fulton County. The judge specifically mentioned that I can keep it loaded at home for protection. It was suggested that I only load it once I get to the location of the approved activities to "save potential issues with some law enforcement" The judge also told me, which I already knew that it was not good in NYC and to avoid travelling through NYC while transporting firearms.
  3. Using the recent Osterweil vs Bartlett decision since I own a home in NY as well as NJ I decided to apply for my NY pistol permit. I submitted my paperwork on 7/8 was fingerprinted on 8/5 and was issued my restricted (fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, and target shooting permit today. It was overall not as difficult as getting my NJ FPID and P2P's. The judge informed me that I can now purchase handguns in NY as my permit is a resident permit. Not really looking for anything right now except 10 round Beretta 92 and Sig SP 2022 mags.
  4. Thanks Howard watching dogs play always puts a smile on my face.
  5. Ebay has just modified the return policy. If the item is not as described the seller must pay the return shipping. This is a problem for sellers because I have had a buyer claim that a Hot Wheels car I sold was not original and was damaged. I showed Ebay before and after photos that Stevie Wonder could tell that the car was not damaged when shipped and I still had to give the lying sack of crap his money back. I had 2 experts check out the car, both certified it original and Ebay says "to bad." I sold it to another buyer a week later for $50 less than the first buyer and the second guy was totally satisfied. The first buyer left negative feedback and armed with all this info Ebay still would not remove it or make up the difference. If you sell and get stuck with an unscrupulous buyer you can get screwed royally. That being said out of several hundred sales I've only had problems with 3 buyers.
  6. I get stove chow from home depot. 230 a ton last time i checked.
  7. Spoke to someone at Ebay after about half an hour on hold and they agreed that Puerto Rico is not in the United States so transaction cancelled and final value fee refunded. I am actually surprised since they almost always side with the buyer even if the buyer is obviously wrong.
  8. Ebay has refused to cancel the transaction and insists that I complete the transaction even though I already refunded the buyers money. I checked Ebay's TOS and they do not allow you to sell primers on their site so that is my out. I had my account set to only allow buyers from the "United States" but have now changed it to exclude everyone except the lower 48.
  9. Thanks for the list but I don't see the buyers name on it. The buyer also only gave me a PO box # and FedEx doesn't ship to those and I don't think that I can ship them via USPS.
  10. The kero as long as no water got into it should be fine. I keep it for several years and use it in my heater when the power is out. As for the gas like another poster said wait for a local hazmet disposal day or maybe run it though your lawn mower but It may foul the carb if the gas is really bad.
  11. I came across an old box of primers at a garage sale got them cheap and since I don't reload decided to sell them on Ebay. I list them as for parts not working and also state in my description that they must be shipped FedEx ground because they might still be live. I list US shipping only and have my account set up to block bidders who are not in countries that I ship to. I get a bid of $25 for a box of almost 1000 and think great I just made 5x's my investment. Nope the buyer is from Puerto Rico. I told the buyer I want to cancel the transaction because the laws there regarding anything to do with firearms make NJ look like a 2nd amendment paradise. I figure the buyer will leave me negative feed back and Ebay will let it stand even though the buyer is probably attempting to commit a felony. They buyer should and probably does know better and Ebay should not let someone from out side of the continental US bid on an item that must be shipped ground and listed as such. How the heck do you ship ground to an island???????
  12. In NY from 10/1-3/29 all you need is a C1 permit.
  13. I couldn't get into The Strain either. Didn't check out the Last Ship.
  14. The best approach when it comes to New Jersey is to avoid it like the plague.
  15. Worth the trip very good beers but a limited selection of 4 or 5 taps. Bring your own cheese, crackers, and pretzels and hang out in the tap room for a few pints. Eric used to be a NYC prosecutor and he gives a good tour.
  16. I went to the distillery in Bowling Green last summer. The satellite location in Nashville does not do distilling. They make a good spiced rum and if you can find it a spectacular absinthe The bourbon and quinoa whiskey were OK. The bottle I walked out with was a barrel aged gin. They took their gin and aged it in the barrels that the spiced rum cam out of. Makes a very interesting martini. I got bottle 348 of 420. They are so small that they apply the labels to the bottles by hand.
  17. Shooting from the bench is fine. It's a bit unwieldy off hand. It's a lousy compromise but at least I can bring it to my other residence.

Repeat after me. I love my dog. I love my dog
  19. I have tried that. I still have issues with some .357 ammo fitting snug in the cylinder after firing a bunch of .38. Aluminum cased.357 is tight, brass is fine. I just want to get it clean enough to shoot the rest of the aluminum cased stuff and will never buy it again. I promise.
  20. What's the best method of cleaning the gunk out of the chambers after shooting the shorter rounds?

" The Boxer Hound mix is dumber than a bag of hammers I swear." I have to agree the pray drive in the hound rules the dog. Mine (see avatar) got hold of a toad and vomited several times and had the dry heaves for four hours. Think the sickest you ever got from drinking too much and multiply that by a factor of 10. I never heard a sound like that come from a dog. Less than a month later does the same thing. She's just lucky there are no really poisonous toads in the north east. Now I go out and chase them away before walking the dog after it rains.
  22. See if you can schedule a meeting with the detective and have your friend call your phone while you're in the meeting. Answer the phone and give it to the detective.
  23. Very informative. Thank you very much.
